에스겔 31:1-32:32

 하나님께서는 이미 멸망한 앗수르를 레바논 백향목에 비유하여 애굽에게 앗수르의 영광과 몰락을 상기시키면서 애굽도 앗수르와 같이 될 것이라고 경고하셨다. 에스겔은 하나님의 심판으로 죽음에 이른 바로에 대하여, 또 몰락될 그 왕국의 권세에 대하여 애가를 불렀다.
  
  레바논 백향목의 비유(31:1-31:18)    
 
  1. And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?
  3. Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.
  4. The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.
  5. Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.
  1. 제 십일년 셋째 달 초하루에 주님께서 내게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "사람아, 너는 이집트 왕 바로와 그의 무리에게 이렇게 전하여라. '너의 위엄찬 모습을 누구와 비할 수 있겠느냐?
  3. 앗시리아는 한 때 레바논의 백향목이었다. 그 가지가 아름답고, 그 그늘도 숲의 그늘과 같았다. 그 나무의 키가 크고, 그 꼭대기는 구름 속으로 뻗어 있었다.
  4. 너는 물을 넉넉히 먹고 큰 나무가 되었다. 깊은 물줄기에서 물을 빨며 크게 자랐다. 네가 서 있는 사방으로는 강물이 흐르고, 개울물이 흘러, 들의 모든 나무가 물을 마셨다.
  5. 너는 들의 모든 나무보다 더 높게 자랐다. 흐르는 물이 넉넉하여 굵은 가지도 무수하게 많아지고, 가는 가지도 길게 뻗어 나갔다.
  1. All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
  2. Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.
  3. The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.
  4. I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.
  5. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;
  1. 너의 큰 가지 속에서는 공중의 모든 새가 보금자리를 만들고, 가는 가지 밑에서는 들의 모든 짐승이 새끼를 낳고, 그 나무의 그늘 밑에서는 모든 큰 민족이 자리잡고 살았다.
  2. 네가 크게 자라서 아름다워지고, 그 가지들이 길게 자라 뻗친 것은, 네가 물 많은 곳에 뿌리를 내렸기 때문이다.
  3. 하나님의 동산에 있는 백향목들도 너에 비하면 아무것도 아니다. 잣나무들도 네 굵은 가지들과는 비교가 되지 않고, 단풍나무들도 네 가는 가지들만 못하다. 하나님의 동산에 있는 어떤 나무도 너처럼 아름답지는 못하였다.
  4. 내가 네 가지들을 많게 하고, 너를 아름답게 키웠더니 하나님의 동산에 있는 에덴의 나무들이 모두 너를 부러워하였다.
  5. 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다. 그 나무의 키가 커지고, 그 꼭대기가 구름 속으로 뻗치면서, 키가 커졌다고 해서, 그 나무의 마음이 교만해졌다.
  1. I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.
  2. And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.
  3. Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:
  4. To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.
  5. Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.
  1. 그러므로 나는 그 나무를 민족들의 통치자에게 넘겨 주고, 그는 그 나무가 저지른 악에 맞는 마땅한 벌을 내릴 것이다. 나는 그 나무를 내버렸다.
  2. 그래서 뭇 민족 가운데서 잔인한 다른 백성들이 그 나무를 베어서 버렸다. 그 가는 가지들은 산과 모든 골짜기에 쓰러져 있고, 굵은 가지들은 그 땅의 모든 시냇물 가에 부러져 있고, 세상의 모든 백성이 그 나무의 그늘에서 도망쳐 버렸다. 사람들이 이렇게 그 나무를 떠나 버렸다.
  3. 그 쓰러진 나무 위에 공중의 모든 새가 살고, 그 나무의 가지 사이에서는 들의 모든 짐승이 산다.
  4. 그것은 물가의 나무들이 다시는 키 때문에 교만하지 못하게 하며, 그 꼭대기가 구름 속으로 치솟아 오르지도 못하게 하며, 물을 빨아들이는 모든 나무가 자신의 교만에 머물지 못하게 한 것이었다. 그것들은 모두 죽음에 넘겨져서, 지하로 내려가고, 깊은 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들 속에 들어 있게 하였기 때문이다.
  5. 나 주 하나님이 말한다. 그 나무가 스올로 내려갈 때에, 내가 지하수를 말리고, 강물을 막고, 흐르는 큰 물을 모두 멈추게 하겠다. 또 내가 레바논 산으로는 그 나무를 애도하여 통곡하게 하겠고, 온 누리의 모든 나무는 그 나무를 애도하여 시들어 죽게 하겠다.
  1. I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
  2. They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.
  3. To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
  1. 내가 그 나무를 스올로 내려 보낼 때에는, 깊은 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들과 함께 그 나무를 그리로 보낼 것이니, 그 나무가 스올로 떨어지는 큰소리를 듣고서, 뭇 민족이 벌벌 떨 것이다. 이미 스올에 가 있는 에덴의 모든 나무와, 물을 흠뻑 먹으며 자란 레바논 산의 가장 좋은 나무들이, 그 나무가 이렇게 심판을 받는 것을 보고는, 스올에서 큰 위로를 받을 것이다.
  2. 나무들도 그 나무와 함께 스올로 내려가서, 이미 거기에 먼저 와 있던 나무들, 곧 칼에 찔려서 살해된 자들, 살아 생전에 그 나무의 그늘 밑에서 살다가 스올로 들어온 자들에게로 갈 것이다.
  3. 에덴의 나무들 가운데서 어떤 나무가 너처럼 화려하고 컸더냐? 그러나 너도 이제는 에덴의 나무들과 함께 스올로 끌려가서, 할례받지 못한 사람들 가운데 섞여, 칼에 찔려 죽은 사람들과 함께 누울 것이다. 바로와 그의 백성 모두가 이렇게 될 것이다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다.'"
 
  바로를 위한 애가(32:1-32:32)    
 
  1. And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  2. Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou art as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.
  3. Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will therefore spread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my net.
  4. Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.
  5. And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with thy height.
  1. 제 십이년 열두째 달 초하루에, 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "사람아, 너는 이집트 왕 바로를 두고 애가를 불러라. 너는 그에게 알려 주어라. '너는 스스로 네가 만방의 사자라고 생각하지만, 너는 나일 강 속에 있는 악어이다. 뾰족한 코로 강물을 흩뿌리고 발로 강물을 휘저으면서 강물을 더럽혔다.
  3. 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다. 내가 많은 백성을 불러와서, 그들이 보는 앞에서 그물을 던져 너를 잡고, 예인망으로 너를 끌어올려서,
  4. 땅바닥에 내던지고 들판에 내동댕이치겠다. 공중의 새를 데려다가 네 몸 위에 내려앉게 하며, 온 땅의 들짐승들이 너를 뜯어먹고 배부르게 하겠다.
  5. 너의 살점을 이산 저산에 흩어 놓으면 골짜기마다 네 시체로 가득 찰 것이다.
  1. I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.
  2. And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
  3. All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.
  4. I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.
  5. Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.
  1. 내가 네 피로 땅을 적시고, 산꼭대기까지 적실 것이니, 시내마다 네 피가 철철 넘쳐 흐를 것이다.
  2. 내가 네 빛을 꺼지게 할 때에, 하늘을 가려 별들을 어둡게 하고, 구름으로 태양을 가리고, 달도 빛을 내지 못하게 하겠다.
  3. 하늘에서 빛나는 광채들을 모두 어둡게 하고, 네 땅을 어둠으로 뒤덮어 놓겠다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다.
  4. 네가 망했다는 소식을 내가 뭇 민족에게 알리면, 뭇 민족이 네가 알지도 못하던 그 나라들이 네가 망했다는 소식을 듣고, 불안에 떨 것이다.
  5. 많은 백성이 보는 앞에서 내가 칼을 휘둘러 너를 치면, 그들은 소스라쳐 놀라고, 또 내가 그들의 왕 앞에서 나의 칼을 휘둘러 너를 치면, 네가 받은 형벌을 보고 모두 벌벌 떨 것이며, 네가 쓰러지는 그 날에는, 왕들마다 목숨을 잃을까봐 떨 것이다.
  1. For thus saith the Lord GOD; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.
  2. By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.
  3. I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts trouble them.
  4. Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord GOD.
  5. When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and the country shall be destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I am the LORD.
  1. 나 주 하나님이 말한다. 바빌로니아 왕의 칼이 네게 미칠 것이다.
  2. 내가 용사들의 칼로 너의 무리를 쓰러뜨리겠다. 그들은 뭇 민족 가운데서 가장 잔인한 사람들이다. 이집트가 자랑하던 것을 그들이 박살내며, 이집트의 온 무리를 그들이 멸망시킬 것이다.
  3. 내가 그 큰 물 가에서 모든 짐승을 없애 버리면, 다시는 사람의 발이 그 물을 흐리게 하지 못하고, 짐승의 발굽도 그 물을 흐리게 하지 못할 것이다.
  4. 그리고 나서 내가 그 강물을 맑게 하여, 모든 강물이 기름처럼 흐르게 하겠다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다.
  5. 내가 이집트 땅을 황무지로 만들면, 그래서 그 땅에 가득 찬 풍요가 사라지면, 내가 그 땅에 사는 모든 사람을 치면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다.
  1. This is the lamentation wherewith they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
  2. It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
  3. Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.
  4. Whom dost thou pass in beauty? go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.
  5. They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword: she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.
  1. 이것이 그들이 부를 애가다. 여러 민족의 딸들이 이것을 애가로 부를 것이다. 그들은 이것을 이집트와 그 나라의 온 무리를 애도하는 조가로 부를 것이다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다.'"
  2. 제 십이년 첫째 달 십오일에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  3. "사람아, 너는 이집트의 무리를 애도하여 슬피 울고, 이집트와 열강의 딸들을, 깊은 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들과 함께, 지하로 보내면서 일러라.
  4. '도대체 네가 누구보다 더 아름답다는 거냐? 너는 아래로 내려가서 할례받지 못한 자들과 함께 누워라' 하여라.
  5. 그들은 칼에 찔려 죽은 사람들 한가운데로 떨어질 것이다. 칼이 이미 이집트의 목을 겨누고 있으니, 이집트와 그의 온 군대를 지하로 내려보내라.
  1. The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.
  2. Asshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:
  3. Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave: all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living.
  4. There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.
  5. They have set her a bed in the midst of the slain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword: though their terror was caused in the land of the living, yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be slain.
  1. 그러면 스올에 있는 강한 용사들이 부하들과 함께 바로의 무리에게 이르기를 '저 할례받지 못한 자들이, 저 칼에 찔려 죽은 자들이, 이 곳 아래로 떨어져 눕는다' 할 것이다.
  2. 그 곳에는 앗시리아가 묻혀 있고, 그의 군대가 함께 묻혀 있다. 사방에 그들의 무덤이 있다. 그들은 모두 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들이요, 칼에 쓰러진 자들이다.

  1. There is Meshech, Tubal, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living.
  2. And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
  3. Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.
  4. There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.
  5. There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit.
  1. 그 곳에는 메섹과 두발이 묻혀 있고, 그 무덤의 둘레에는 그들의 군대가 모두 묻혀 있다. 그들은 모두 할례를 받지 못한 자들이요, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들이요, 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이었다.
  2. 그러나 그들은, 전쟁 무기를 가지고 스올로 내려가 칼을 베개로 삼아 베고 방패를 이불로 삼아 덮고 자는 고대의 전몰 용사들과 함께 눕지는 못하였다. 그들은 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서는 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이었다.
  3. 이제 너 이집트는 패망하여, 칼에 찔려 죽은 자들과 함께, 할례를 받지 못하고 죽은 자들과 함께 누울 것이다.
  4. 그 곳에는 에돔 곧 에돔의 왕들과 그 모든 지도자가 묻혀 있다. 그들은 용맹스러웠으나, 지금은 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 누워 있고, 할례를 받지 못하고 무덤으로 내려간 자들과 함께 누워 있다.
  5. 그 곳에는 북쪽의 모든 우두머리와 모든 시돈 사람이 묻혀 있다. 그들은 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 지하로 떨어졌다. 그들이 세상에서는 두려움을 떨치고 힘을 자랑하였으나, 이제는 수치를 당하게 되고, 할례를 받지 못하고 죽은 자들, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 누워 있고, 깊은 구덩이로 내려간 사람들과 함께 수치를 뒤집어쓰고 있다.
  1. Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.
  2. For I have caused my terror in the land of the living: and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that are slain with the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.
  1. 바로와 그의 온 군대가 칼에 찔려 죽었지만, 지하에 내려가서, 이미 거기에 와 있는 군대를 모두 보고서는, 그들이 위로를 받을 것이다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다.
  2. 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 바로가 사람들에게 겁을 준 것은, 사실은, 내가 그렇게 하도록 시킨 것이다. 그러나 이제는 바로가 자기의 모든 군대와 함께 할례받지 못한 자들과 섞여, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 무덤에 눕게 될 것이다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다."
