- 왕의 마음은 흐르는 물줄기 같아서 주님의 손 안에 있다. 주님께서 원하시는 대로 왕을 이끄신다.
- 사람의 행위는 자기의 눈에는 모두 옳게 보이나, 주님께서는 그 마음을 꿰뚫어 보신다.
- 주님께서는 정의와 공평을 지키며 사는 것을 제사를 드리는 일보다 더 반기신다.
- 거만한 눈과 오만한 마음, 이러한 죄는 악인을 구별하는 표지이다.
- 부지런한 사람의 계획은 반드시 이득을 얻지만, 성급한 사람은 가난해질 뿐이다.

- 다투기를 좋아하는 여자와 넓은 집에서 함께 사는 것보다, 차라리 다락 한 구석에서 혼자 사는 것이 더 낫다.
