마태복음 16:13-16:28

 베드로의 신앙 고백을 들으신 예수님께서는 자신이 십자가에 달려 돌아가실 것을 말씀하셨다. 그러자 베드로는 이를 만류하였다. 이에 예수님께서는 제자의 길은 자기를 부인하고 주를 따르는 것임을 교훈하셨다.
  
  베드로의 신앙 고백(16:13-16:20)    
 
  1. When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
  2. And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
  3. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
  4. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
  5. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
  1. Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
  2. And they said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets."
  3. He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
  4. Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
  5. And Jesus said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
  1. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
  2. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
  3. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
  1. "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
  2. "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."
  3. Then He warned the disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Christ.
 
  제자의 길(16:21-16:28)    
 
  1. From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
  2. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
  3. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
  4. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
  5. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
  1. From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.
  2. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, "God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You."
  3. But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's."
  4. Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
  5. "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
  1. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
  2. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
  3. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
  1. "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
  2. "For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS.
  3. "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."
