- And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
- And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
- And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
- And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
- And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

- さて， 使徒たちは， イエス のもとに 集まって 來て， 自分たちのしたこと， 敎えたことを 殘らず イエス に 報告した．
- そこで イエス は 彼らに， 「さあ， あなたがただけで， 寂しい 所へ 行って， しばらく 休みなさい． 」と 言われた． 人¿の 出入りが 多くて， ゆっくり 食事する 時間さえなかったからである．
- そこで 彼らは， 舟に 乘って， 自分たちだけで 寂しい 所へ 行った．
- ところが， 多くの 人¿が， 彼らの 出て 行くのを 見， それと 氣づいて， 方¿の 町¿からそこへ 徒步で 驅けつけ， 彼らよりも 先に 着いてしまった．
- イエス は， 舟から 上がられると， 多くの 群衆をご 覽になった． そして 彼らが 羊飼いのいない 羊のようであるのを 深くあわれみ， いろいろと 敎え 始められた．

- And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
- Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
- He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
- He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
- And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

- そのうち， もう 時刻もおそくなったので， 弟子たちは イエス のところに 來て 言った． 「ここはへんぴな 所で， もう 時刻もおそくなりました．
- みんなを 解散させてください． そして， 近くの 部落や 村に 行って 何か 食べる 物をめいめいで 買うようにさせてください． 」
- すると， 彼らに 答えて 言われた． 「あなたがたで， あの 人たちに 何か 食べる 物を 上げなさい． 」そこで 弟子たちは 言った． 「私たちが 出かけて 行って， 二百 デナリ もの パン を 買ってあの 人たちに 食べさせるように， ということでしょうか． 」
- すると イエス は 彼らに 言われた． 「パン はどれぐらいありますか． 行って 見て 來なさい． 」彼らは 確かめて 言った． 「五つです． それと 魚が 二匹です． 」
- イエス は， みなを， それぞれ 組にして 靑草の 上にすわらせるよう， 弟子たちにお 命じになった．

- And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
- And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
- And they did all eat, and were filled.
- And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
- And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

- そこで 人¿は， 百人， 五十人と 固まって 席に 着いた．
- すると イエス は， 五つの パン と 二匹の 魚を 取り， 天を 見上げて 祝福を 求め， パン を 裂き， 人¿に 配るように 弟子たちに 與えられた． また， 二匹の 魚もみなに 分けられた．
- 人¿はみな， 食べて 滿腹した．
- そして， パン 切れを 十二のかごにいっぱい 取り 集め， 魚の 殘りも 取り 集めた．
- パン を 食べたのは， 男が 五千人であった．

- And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
- And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
- And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
- And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
- But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

- それからすぐに， イエス は 弟子たちを 强いて 舟に 乘り ¿ませ， 先に 向こう 岸の ベツサイダ に 行かせ， ご 自分は， その 間に 群衆を 解散させておられた．
- それから， 群衆に 別れ， 祈るために， そこを 去って 山のほうに 向かわれた．
- 夕方になったころ， 舟は 湖の 眞中に 出ており， イエス だけが 陸地におられた．
- イエス は， 弟子たちが， 向かい 風のために 漕ぎあぐねているのをご 覽になり， 夜中の 三時ごろ， 湖の 上を 步いて， 彼らに 近づいて 行かれたが， そのままそばを 通り 過ぎようとのおつもりであった．
- しかし， 弟子たちは， イエス が 湖の 上を 步いておられるのを 見て， 幽靈だと 思い， 叫び 聲をあげた．

- For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
- And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
- For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
- And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
- And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

- というのは， みな イエス を 見ておびえてしまったからである． しかし， イエス はすぐに 彼らに 話しかけ， 「しっかりしなさい． わたしだ． 恐れることはない． 」と 言われた．
- そして 舟に 乘り ¿まれると， 風がやんだ． 彼らの 心中の 驚きは 非常なものであった．
- というのは， 彼らはまだ パン のことから 悟るところがなく， その 心は 堅く 閉じていたからである．
- 彼らは 湖を 渡って， ゲネサレ の 地に 着き， 舟をつないだ．
- そして， 彼らが 舟から 上がると， 人¿はすぐに イエス だと 氣がついて，

- And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
- And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

- そのあたりをくまなく 走り 回り， イエス がおられると 聞いた 場所へ， 病人を 床に 載せて 運んで 來た．
- イエス がはいって 行かれると， 村でも 町でも 部落でも， 人¿は 病人たちを 廣場に 寢かせ， そして， せめて， イエス の 着物の 端にでもさわらせてくださるようにと 願った． そして， さわった 人¿はみな， いやされた．
