사도행전 21:17-21:36

 예루살렘에 도착한 바울은 유대인들의 모함으로 몰매를 맞고 죽음의 위기에 놓였을 때 로마 군대 천부장에게 체포됨으로써 성난 군중들로부터 구출되었다.
  
  예루살렘으로 귀환(21:17-21:26)    
 
  1. And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
  2. And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
  3. And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
  4. And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
  5. And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.
  1. エルサレム に 着くと， 兄弟たちは 喜んで 私たちを 迎えてくれた．
  2. 次の 日， パウロ は 私たちを 連れて， ヤコブ を 訪問した． そこには 長老たちがみな 集まっていた．
  3. 彼らにあいさつしてから， パウロ は 彼の 奉仕を 通して 神が 異邦人の 間でなさったことを， 一つ 一つ 話しだした．
  4. 彼らはそれを 聞いて 神をほめたたえ， パウロ にこう 言った． 「兄弟よ． ご 承知のように， ユダヤ 人の 中で 信仰にはいっている 者は 幾万となくありますが， みな 律法に 熱心な 人たちです．
  5. ところで， 彼らが 聞かされていることは， あなたは 異邦人の 中にいるすべての ユダヤ 人に， 子どもに 割禮を 施すな， 慣習に 從って 步むな， と 言って， モ ― セ にそむくように 敎えているということなのです．
  1. What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
  2. Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
  3. Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
  4. As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
  5. Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
  1. それで， どうしましょうか． あなたが 來たことは， 必ず 彼らの 耳にはいるでしょう．
  2. ですから， 私たちの 言うとおりにしてください． 私たちの 中に 誓願を 立てている 者が 四人います．
  3. この 人たちを 連れて， あなたも 彼らといっしょに 身を 淸め， 彼らが 頭をそる 費用を 出してやりなさい． そうすれば， あなたについて 聞かされていることは 根も 葉もないことで， あなたも 律法を 守って 正しく 步んでいることが， みなにわかるでしょう．
  4. 信仰にはいった 異邦人に 關しては， 偶像の 神に 供えた 肉と， 血と， 絞め 殺した 物と， 不品行とを 避けるべきであると 決定しましたので， 私たちはすでに 手紙を 書きました． 」
  5. そこで， パウロ はその 人たちを 引き 連れ， 翌日， ともに 身を 淸めて 宮にはいり， 淸めの 期間が 終わって， ひとりひとりのために 供え 物をささげる 日時を 告げた．
 
  바울의 체포(21:27-21:36)    
 
  1. And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
  2. Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
  3. (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
  4. And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
  5. And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
  1. ところが， その 七日がほとんど 終わろうとしていたころ， アジヤ から 來た ユダヤ 人たちは， パウロ が 宮にいるのを 見ると， 全群衆をあおりたて， 彼に 手をかけて，
  2. こう 叫んだ． 「イスラエル の 人¿． 手を 貸してください． この 男は， この 民と， 律法と， この 場所に 逆らうことを， 至る 所ですべての 人に 敎えている 者です． そのうえ， ギリシヤ 人を 宮の 中に 連れ ¿んで， この 神聖な 場所をけがしています． 」
  3. 彼らは 前に エペソ 人 トロピモ が 町で パウロ といっしょにいるのを 見かけたので， パウロ が 彼を 宮に 連れ ¿んだのだと 思ったのである．
  4. そこで 町中が 大¿ぎになり， 人¿は 殺到して パウロ を 捕え， 宮の 外へ 引きずり 出した． そして， ただちに 宮の 門が 閉じられた．
  5. 彼らが パウロ を 殺そうとしていたとき， エルサレム 中が 混亂狀態に 陷っているという 報告が， ロ ― マ 軍の 千人隊長に 屆いた．
  1. Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
  2. Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
  3. And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
  4. And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
  5. For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
  1. 彼はただちに， 兵士たちと 百人隊長たちとを 率いて， 彼らのところに 驅けつけた． 人¿は 千人隊長と 兵士たちを 見て， パウロ を 打つのをやめた．
  2. 千人隊長は 近づいて パウロ を 捕え， 二つの 鎖につなぐように 命じたうえ， パウロ が 何者なのか， 何をしたのか， と 尋ねた．
  3. しかし， 群衆がめいめい 勝手なことを 叫び 續けたので， その ¿がしさのために 確かなことがわからなかった． そこで 千人隊長は， パウロ を 兵營に 連れて 行くように 命令した．
  4. パウロ が 階段にさしかかったときには， 群衆の 暴行を 避けるために， 兵士たちが 彼をかつぎ 上げなければならなかった．
  5. 大ぜいの 群衆が「彼を 除け． 」と 叫びながら， ついて 來たからである．
