- Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
- I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
- When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
- Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
- Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

- わが 子よ． 聞け． 私の 言うことを 受け 入れよ． そうすれば， あなたのいのちの 年は 多くなる．
- 私は 知惠の 道をあなたに 敎え， 正しい 道筋にあなたを 導いた．
- あなたが 步むとき， その 步みは 妨げられず， 走るときにも， つまずくことはない．
- 訓戒を 堅く 握って， 手放すな． それを 見守れ． それはあなたのいのちだから．
- 惡者どもの 道にはいるな． 惡人たちの 道を 步むな．

- Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
- For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
- For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
- But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
- The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

- それを 無視せよ． そこを 通るな． それを 避けて 通れ．
- 彼らは 惡を 行なわなければ， 眠ることができず， 人をつまずかせなければ， 眠りが 得られない．
- 彼らは 不義の パン を 食べ， 暴虐の 酒を 飮むからだ．
- 義人の 道は， あけぼのの 光のようだ． いよいよ 輝きを 增して 眞¿となる．
- 惡者の 道は 暗やみのようだ． 彼らは 何につまずくかを 知らない．
