- Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
- She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
- She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
- Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
- Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

- 知惠は 自分の 家を 建て， 七つの 柱を 据え，
- いけにえをほふり， ぶどう 酒に 混ぜ 物をし， その 食卓も 整え，
- 小娘にことづけて， 町の 高い 所で 告げさせた．
- 「わきまえのない 者はだれでも， ここに 來なさい． 」と． また， 思慮に 欠けた 者に 言う．
- 「わたしの 食事を 食べに 來なさい． わたしの 混ぜ 合わせたぶどう 酒を 飮み，

- Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
- He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
- Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
- Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
- The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

- わきまえのないことを 捨てて， 生きなさい． 悟りのある 道を， まっすぐ 步みなさい． 」と．
- あざける 者を 戒める 者は， 自分が 恥を 受け， 惡者を 責める 者は， 自分が 傷を 受ける．
- あざける 者を 責めるな． おそらく， 彼はあなたを 憎むだろう． 知惠のある 者を 責めよ． そうすれば， 彼はあなたを 愛するだろう．
- 知惠のある 者に 與えよ． 彼はますます 知惠を 得よう． 正しい 者を 敎えよ． 彼は 理解を 深めよう．
- 主を 恐れることは 知惠の 初め， 聖なる 方を 知ることは 悟りである．

- For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
- If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

- わたしによって， あなたの 日は 多くなり， あなたのいのちの 年は 增すからだ．
- もし， あなたが 知惠を 得れば， その 知惠はあなたのものだ． もし， あなたがこれをあざけるなら， あなただけが， その 責任を 負うことになる．
