- Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
- For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
- And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
- Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
- And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

- 初めの 契約にも 禮拜の 規定と 地上の 聖所とがありました．
- 幕屋が 設けられ， その 前部の 所には， 燭台と 机と 供えの パン がありました． 聖所と 呼ばれる 所です．
- また， 第二の 垂れ 幕のうしろには， 至聖所と 呼ばれる 幕屋が 設けられ，
- そこには 金の 香壇と， 全面を 金でおおわれた 契約の 箱があり， 箱の 中には， マナ のはいった 金のつぼ， 芽を 出した アロン の 杖， 契約の 二つの 板がありました．
- また， 箱の 上には， ·罪蓋を 翼でおおっている 榮光の ケルビム がありました． しかしこれらについては， 今いちいち 述べることができません．

- Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
- But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
- The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
- Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
- Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

- さて， これらの 物が 以上のように 整えられた 上で， 前の 幕屋には， 祭司たちがいつもはいって 禮拜を 行なうのですが，
- 第二の 幕屋には， 大祭司だけが 年に 一度だけはいります． そのとき， 血を 携えずにはいるようなことはありません． その 血は， 自分のために， また， 民が 知らずに 犯した 罪のためにささげるものです．
- これによって 聖靈は 次のことを 示しておられます． すなわち， 前の 幕屋が 存續しているかぎり， まことの 聖所への 道は， まだ 明らかにされていないということです．
- この 幕屋はその 當時のための 比喩です． それに 從って， ささげ 物といけにえとがささげられますが， それらは 禮拜する 者の 良心を 完全にすることはできません．
- それらは， ただ 食物と 飮み 物と 種¿の 洗いに 關するもので， 新しい 秩序の 立てられる 時まで 課せられた， からだに 關する 規定にすぎないからです．

- But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
- Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
- For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
- How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

- しかし キリスト は， すでに 成就したすばらしい 事がらの 大祭司として 來られ， 手で 造った 物でない， 言い 替えれば， この 造られた 物とは 違った， さらに 偉大な， さらに 完全な 幕屋を 通り，
- また， やぎと 子牛との 血によってではなく， ご 自分の 血によって， ただ 一度， まことの 聖所にはいり， 永遠の ·いを 成し 遂げられたのです．
- もし， やぎと 雄牛の 血， また 雌牛の 灰を 汚れた 人¿に 注ぎかけると， それが 聖めの ¿きをして 肉體をきよいものにするとすれば，
- まして， キリスト が 傷のないご 自身を， とこしえの 御靈によって 神におささげになったその 血は， どんなにか 私たちの 良心をきよめて 死んだ 行ないから 離れさせ， 生ける 神に 仕える 者とすることでしょう．
