- Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
- Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
- Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
- And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
- And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

- それから， 彼は デルベ に 行き， 次に ルステラ に 行った． そこに テモテ という 名の 弟子がいた． 信者の ユダヤ 婦人を 母とし， ギリシヤ 人を 父としており，
- ルステラ と イコニオム の 兄弟たちの 間で， 評判のよい 人物であった．
- パウロ はこの テモテ を 連れて 行きたかったので， その 地方にいる ユダヤ 人の 手前， まず 彼に 割禮を 受けさせた． 彼の 父が ギリシヤ 人であることは， みんな 知っていたからである．
- それから 彼らは 通る 町¿で， エルサレム の 使徒たちや 長老たちの 取り 決めた 事項を 守るようにと， 人¿にそれを 渡した．
- こうして， 諸敎會はその 信仰を 强められ， 日ごとに 數を 增していった．

- Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
- After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
- And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
- And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
- And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

- それから 彼らは， アジヤ で 御言を 語ることを 聖靈に 禁じられたので， フルギヤ · ガラテヤ 地方をとおって 行った．
- そして， ムシヤ のあたりにきてから， ビテニヤ に 進んで 行こうとしたところ， イエス の 御靈がこれを 許さなかった．
- それで， ムシヤ を 通過して， トロアス に 下って 行った．
- ここで 夜， パウロ は 一つの 幻を 見た． ひとりの マケドニヤ 人が 立って， 「マケドニヤ に 渡ってきて， わたしたちを 助けて 下さい 」と， 彼に 懇願するのであった．
- パウロ がこの 幻を 見た 時， これは 彼らに 福音を 傳えるために， 神がわたしたちをお 招きになったのだと 確信して， わたしたちは， ただちに マケドニヤ に 渡って 行くことにした．

- Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
- And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
- And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
- And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
- And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

- そこで， わたしたちは トロアス から 船出して， サモトラケ に 直航し， 翌日 ネアポリス に 着いた．
- そこから ピリピ へ 行った． これは マケドニヤ のこの 地方第一の 町で， 植民都市であった． わたしたちは， この 町に 數日間滯在した．
- ある 安息日に， わたしたちは 町の 門を 出て， 祈り 場があると 思って， 川のほとりに 行った． そして， そこにすわり， 集まってきた 婦人たちに 話をした．
- ところが， テアテラ 市の 紫布の 商人で， 神を 敬う ルデヤ という 婦人が 聞いていた． 主は 彼女の 心を 開いて， パウロ の 語ることに 耳を 傾けさせた．
- そして， この 婦人もその 家族も， 共に バプテスマ を 受けたが， その 時， 彼女は「もし， わたしを 主を 信じる 者とお 思いでしたら， どうぞ， わたしの 家にきて 泊まって 下さい 」と 懇望し， しいてわたしたちをつれて 行った．
