- Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
- But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
- Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
- But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
- To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

- わたしの 言う 意味は， こうである． 相續人が 子供である 間は， 全財産の 持ち 主でありながら， 僕となんの 差別もなく，
- 父親の 定めた 時期までは， 管理人や 後見人の 監督の 下に 置かれているのである．
- それと 同じく， わたしたちも 子供であった 時には， いわゆるこの 世のもろもろの 靈力の 下に， 縛られていた 者であった．
- しかし， 時の 滿ちるに 及んで， 神は 御子を 女から 生れさせ， 律法の 下に 生れさせて， おつかわしになった．
- それは， 律法の 下にある 者をあがない 出すため， わたしたちに 子たる 身分を 授けるためであった．

- And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
- Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
- Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.
- But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
- Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

- このように， あなたがたは 子であるのだから， 神はわたしたちの 心の 中に， 「アバ ， 父よ 」と 呼ぶ 御子の 靈を 送って 下さったのである．
- したがって， あなたがたはもはや 僕ではなく， 子である． 子である 以上， また 神による 相續人である．
- 神を 知らなかった 當時， あなたがたは， 本來神ならぬ 神¿の 奴隷になっていた．
- しかし， 今では 神を 知っているのに， 否， むしろ 神に 知られているのに， どうして， あの 無力で 貧弱な， もろもろの 靈力に 逆もどりして， またもや， 新たにその 奴隷になろうとするのか．
- あなたがたは， 日や 月や 季節や 年などを 守っている．

- I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
- Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.
- Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.
- And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
- Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

- わたしは， あなたがたのために 努力してきたことが， あるいは， むだになったのではないかと， あなたがたのことが 心配でならない．
- 兄弟たちよ． お 願いする． どうか， わたしのようになってほしい． わたしも， あなたがたのようになったのだから． あなたがたは， 一度もわたしに 對して 不都合なことをしたことはない．
- あなたがたも 知っているとおり， 最初わたしがあなたがたに 福音を 傳えたのは， わたしの 肉體が 弱っていたためであった．
- そして， わたしの 肉體にはあなたがたにとって 試鍊となるものがあったのに， それを 卑しめもせず， またきらいもせず， かえってわたしを， 神の 使か キリスト · イエス かでもあるように， 迎えてくれた．
- その 時のあなたがたの 感激は， 今どこにあるのか． はっきり 言うが， あなたがたは， できることなら， 自分の 目をえぐり 出してでも， わたしにくれたかったのだ．

- Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
- They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
- But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.
- My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
- I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

- それだのに， 眞理を 語ったために， わたしはあなたがたの 敵になったのか．
- 彼らがあなたがたに 對して 熱心なのは， 善意からではない． むしろ， 自分らに 熱心にならせるために， あなたがたをわたしから 引き 離そうとしているのである．
- わたしがあなたがたの 所にいる 時だけでなく， いつも， 良いことについて 熱心に 慕われるのは， 良いことである．
- ああ， わたしの 幼な 子たちよ． あなたがたの 內に キリスト の 形ができるまでは， わたしは， またもや， あなたがたのために 産みの 苦しみをする．
- できることなら， わたしは 今あなたがたの 所にいて， 語調を 變えて 話してみたい． わたしは， あなたがたのことで， 途方にくれている．
