- Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
- For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
- For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
- He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
- Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

- 子供らよ， 父の 敎を 聞き， 悟りを 得るために 耳を 傾けよ．
- わたしは， 良い 敎訓を， あなたがたにさずける． わたしの 敎を 捨ててはならない．
- わたしもわが 父には 子であり， わが 母の 目には， ひとりのいとし 子であった．
- 父はわたしを 敎えて 言った， 「わたしの 言葉を， 心に 留め， わたしの 戒めを 守って， 命を 得よ．
- それを 忘れることなく， またわが 口の 言葉にそむいてはならない， 知惠を 得よ， 悟りを 得よ．
