- Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
- For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
- For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
- That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
- Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

- 最後に， 兄弟たちよ． わたしたちは 主 イエス にあってあなたがたに 願いかつ 勸める． あなたがたが， どのように 步いて 神を 喜ばすべきかをわたしたちから 學んだように， また， いま 步いているとおりに， ますます 步き 續けなさい．
- わたしたちがどういう 敎を 主 イエス によって 與えたか， あなたがたはよく 知っている．
- 神のみこころは， あなたがたが 淸くなることである． すなわち， 不品行を 愼み，
- 各自， 氣をつけて 自分のからだを 淸く 尊く 保ち，
- 神を 知らない 異邦人のように 情欲をほしいままにせず，

- That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
- For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
- He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
- But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
- And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

- また， このようなことで 兄弟を 踏みつけたり， だましたりしてはならない． 前にもあなたがたにきびしく 警告しておいたように， 主はこれらすべてのことについて， 報いをなさるからである．
- 神がわたしたちを 召されたのは， 汚れたことをするためではなく， 淸くなるためである．
- こういうわけであるから， これらの 警告を 拒む 者は， 人を 拒むのではなく， 聖靈をあなたがたの 心に 賜わる 神を 拒むのである．
- 兄弟愛については， 今さら 書きおくる 必要はない． あなたがたは， 互に 愛し 合うように 神に 直接敎えられており，
- また， 事實 マケドニヤ 全土にいるすべての 兄弟に 對して， それを 實行しているのだから． しかし， 兄弟たちよ． あなたがたに 勸める． ますます， そうしてほしい．

- And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
- That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
- But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
- For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
- For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

- そして， あなたがたに 命じておいたように， つとめて 落ち 着いた 生活をし， 自分の 仕事に 身をいれ， 手ずから ¿きなさい．
- そうすれば， 外部の 人¿に 對して 品位を 保ち， まただれの 世話にもならずに， 生活できるであろう．
- 兄弟たちよ． 眠っている 人¿については， 無知でいてもらいたくない． 望みを 持たない 外の 人¿のように， あなたがたが 悲しむことのないためである．
- わたしたちが 信じているように， イエス が 死んで 復活されたからには， 同樣に 神は イエス にあって 眠っている 人¿をも， イエス と 一緖に 導き 出して 下さるであろう．
- わたしたちは 主の 言葉によって 言うが， 生きながらえて 主の 來臨の 時まで 殘るわたしたちが， 眠った 人¿より 先になることは， 決してないであろう．

- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
- Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

- すなわち， 主ご 自身が 天使のかしらの 聲と 神の ラッパ の 鳴り 響くうちに， 合圖の 聲で， 天から 下ってこられる． その 時， キリスト にあって 死んだ 人¿が， まず 最初によみがえり，
- それから 生き 殘っているわたしたちが， 彼らと 共に 雲に 包まれて 引き 上げられ， 空中で 主に 會い， こうして， いつも 主と 共にいるであろう．
- だから， あなたがたは， これらの 言葉をもって 互に 慰め 合いなさい．
