- Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.
- Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the LORD.
- And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib.
- For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
- Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.

- さて 祭司 インメル の 子で， 主の 宮のつかさの 長であった パシュル は， エレミヤ がこれらの 事を 預言するのを 聞いた．
- そして パシュル は 預言者 エレミヤ を 打ち， 主の 宮にある 上の ベニヤミン の 門の 足かせにつないだ．
- その 翌日 パシュル が エレミヤ を 足かせから 解き 放した 時， エレミヤ は 彼に 言った， 「主はあなたの 名を パシュル とは 呼ばないで， 『恐れが 周圍にある 』と 呼ばれる．
- 主はこう 仰せられる， 見よ， わたしはあなたを， あなた 自身とあなたのすべての 友だちに 恐れを 起させる 者とする． 彼らはあなたが 見ている 目の 前で 敵のつるぎに 倒れる． わたしはまた ユダ のすべての 民を バビロン 王の 手に 渡す． 彼は 彼らを 捕えて バビロン に 移し， つるぎをもって 殺す．
- わたしはまたこの 町のすべての 富と， その 獲たすべての 物と， そのすべての 貴重な 物と， ユダ の 王たちのすべての 寶物をその 敵の 手に 渡す． 彼らはこれをかすめ， 民を 捕えて バビロン に 移す．

- And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.
- O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
- For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
- Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
- For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

- パシュル よ， あなたと， あなたの 家に 住む 者とはみな 捕え 移される． あなたは バビロン に 行って， その 所で 死に， その 所に 葬られる． あなたも， あなたが 僞って 預言した 言葉に 聞き 從った 友もみなそのようになる 」．
- 主よ， あなたがわたしを 欺かれたので， わたしはその 欺きに 從いました． あなたはわたしよりも 强いので， わたしを 說き 伏せられたのです． わたしは 一日中， 物笑いとなり， 人はみなわたしをあざけります．
- それは， わたしが 語り， 呼ばわるごとに， 「暴虐， 滅亡 」と 叫ぶからです． 主の 言葉が 一日中， わが 身のはずかしめと， あざけりになるからです．
- もしわたしが， 「主のことは， 重ねて 言わない， このうえその 名によって 語る 事はしない 」と 言えば， 主の 言葉がわたしの 心にあって， 燃える 火の ／わが 骨のうちに 閉じこめられているようで， それを 押えるのに 疲れはてて， 耐えることができません．
- 多くの 人のささやくのを 聞くからです． 恐れが 四方にあります． 「告發せよ． さあ， 彼を 告發しよう 」と ／言って， わが 親しい 友は 皆 ／わたしのつまずくのを， うかがっています． また， 「彼は 欺かれるだろう． そのとき， われわれは 彼に 勝って， あだを 返すことができる 」と 言います．

- But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
- But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
- Sing unto the LORD, praise ye the LORD: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
- Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
- Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.

- しかし 主は 强い 勇士の ／ようにわたしと 共におられる． それゆえ， わたしに 迫りくる 者はつまずき， わたしに 打ち 勝つことはできない． 彼らは， なし 遂げることができなくて， 大いに 恥をかく． その 恥は， いつまでも 忘れられることはない．
- 正しき 者を 試み， 人の 心と 思いを 見られる 万軍の 主よ， あなたが 彼らに， あだを 返されるのを 見せてください． わたしはあなたに， わたしの 訴えを ／お 任せしたからです．
- 主に 向かって 歌い， 主をほめたたえよ． 主は 貧しい 者の 命を， 惡人の 手から 救われたからである．
- わたしの 生れた 日はのろわれよ． 母がわたしを 産んだ 日は 祝福を 受けるな．
- わたしの 父に「男の 子が， 生れました 」と 告げて， 彼を 大いに 喜ばせた 人は， のろわれよ．

- And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;
- Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
- Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

- その 人は， 主のあわれみを 受けることなく， 滅ぼされた 町のようになれ． 朝には， 彼に 叫びを 聞かせ， ¿には 戰いの 聲を 聞かせよ．
- 彼がわたしを 胎內で 殺さず， わが 母をわたしの 墓場となさず， その 胎をいつまでも 大きくしなかったからである．
- なにゆえにわたしは 胎內を 出てきて， 惱みと 悲しみに 會い， 恥を 受けて 一生を 過ごすのか．
