- Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
- And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
- If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
- He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
- Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

- くびきの 下にある 奴隷はすべて， 自分の 主人を， 眞に 尊敬すべき 者として 仰ぐべきである． それは， 神の 御名と 敎とが， そしりを 受けないためである．
- 信者である 主人を 持っている 者たちは， その 主人が 兄弟であるというので 輕視してはならない． むしろ， ますます 勵んで 仕えるべきである． その 益を 受ける 主人は， 信者であり 愛されている 人だからである． あなたは， これらの 事を 敎えかつ 勸めなさい．
- もし 違ったことを 敎えて， わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 健全な 言葉， ならびに 信心にかなう 敎に 同意しないような 者があれば，
- 彼は 高慢であって， 何も 知らず， ただ 論議と 言葉の 爭いとに 病みついている 者である． そこから， ねたみ， 爭い， そしり， さいぎの 心が 生じ，
- また 知性が 腐って， 眞理にそむき， 信心を 利得と 心得る 者どもの 間に， はてしのないいがみ 合いが 起るのである．

- But godliness with contentment is great gain.
- For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
- And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
- But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
- For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

- しかし， 信心があって 足ることを 知るのは， 大きな 利得である．
- わたしたちは， 何ひとつ 持たないでこの 世にきた． また， 何ひとつ 持たないでこの 世を 去って 行く．
- ただ 衣食があれば， それで 足れりとすべきである．
- 富むことを 願い 求める 者は， 誘惑と， わなとに 陷り， また， 人を 滅びと 破壞とに 沈ませる， 無分別な 恐ろしいさまざまの 情欲に 奧るのである．
- 金錢を 愛することは， すべての 惡の 根である． ある 人¿は 欲ばって 金錢を 求めたため， 信仰から 迷い 出て， 多くの 苦痛をもって 自分自身を 刺しとおした．

- But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
- Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
- I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
- That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
- Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

- しかし， 神の 人よ． あなたはこれらの 事を 避けなさい． そして， 義と 信心と 信仰と 愛と 忍耐と 柔和とを 追い 求めなさい．
- 信仰の 戰いをりっぱに 戰いぬいて， 永遠のいのちを 獲得しなさい． あなたは， そのために 召され， 多くの 證人の 前で， りっぱなあかしをしたのである．
- わたしはすべてのものを 生かして 下さる 神のみまえと， また ポンテオ · ピラト の 面前でりっぱなあかしをなさった キリスト · イエス のみまえで， あなたに 命じる．
- わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 出現まで， その 戒めを 汚すことがなく， また， それを 非難のないように 守りなさい．
- 時がくれば， 祝福に 滿ちた， ただひとりの 力あるかた， もろもろの 王の 王， もろもろの 主の 主が， キリスト を 出現させて 下さるであろう．

- Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
- Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
- That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
- Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
- O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

- 神はただひとり 不死を 保ち， 近づきがたい 光の 中に 住み， 人間の 中でだれも 見た 者がなく， 見ることもできないかたである． ほまれと 永遠の 支配とが， 神にあるように， アァメン ．
- この 世で 富んでいる 者たちに， 命じなさい． 高慢にならず， たよりにならない 富に 望みをおかず， むしろ， わたしたちにすべての 物を 豊かに 備えて 樂しませて 下さる 神に， のぞみをおくように，
- また， 良い 行いをし， 良いわざに 富み， 惜しみなく 施し， 人に 分け 與えることを 喜び，
- こうして， 眞のいのちを 得るために， 未來に 備えてよい 土台を 自分のために 築き 上げるように， 命じなさい．
- テモテ よ． あなたにゆだねられていることを 守りなさい． そして， 俗惡なむだ 話と， 僞りの「知識 」による 反對論とを 避けなさい．
