- Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
- She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
- She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
- Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
- Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

- 知惠は 自分の 家を 建て， その 七つの 柱を 立て，
- ¿をほふり， 酒を 混ぜ 合わせて， ふるまいを 備え，
- はしためをつかわして， 町の 高い 所で 呼ばわり 言わせた，
- 「思慮のない 者よ， ここに 來れ 」と． また， 知惠のない 者に 言う，
- 「來て， わたしの パン を 食べ， わたしの 混ぜ 合わせた 酒をのみ，

- Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
- He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
- Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
- Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
- The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

- 思慮のないわざを 捨てて 命を 得， 悟りの 道を 步め 」と．
- あざける 者を 戒める 者は， 自ら 恥を 得， 惡しき 者を 責める 者は 自ら 傷を 受ける．
- あざける 者を 責めるな， おそらく 彼はあなたを 憎むであろう． 知惠ある 者を 責めよ， 彼はあなたを 愛する．
- 知惠ある 者に 敎訓を 授けよ， 彼はますます 知惠を 得る． 正しい 者を 敎えよ， 彼は 學に 進む．
- 主を 恐れることは 知惠のもとである， 聖なる 者を 知ることは， 悟りである．

- For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
- If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

- わたしによって， あなたの 日は 多くなり， あなたの 命の 年は 增す．
- もしあなたに 知惠があるならば， あなた 自身のために 知惠があるのである． もしあなたがあざけるならば， あなたひとりがその 責めを 負うことになる．
