- When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
- By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
- He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
- A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
- Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

- 正しい 者が， しあわせになれば， その 町は 喜び， 惡しき 者が 滅びると， 喜びの 聲がおこる．
- 町は 正しい 者の 祝福によって， 高くあげられ， 惡しき 者の 口によって， 滅ぼされる．
- 隣り 人を 侮る 者は 知惠がない， さとき 人は 口をつぐむ．
- 人のよしあしを 言いあるく 者は 秘密をもらす， 心の 忠信な� 且 メ は 事を 隱す．
- 指導者がなければ 民は 倒れ， 助言者が 多ければ 安全である．
