창세기 16:1-17:27

 자식을 낳지 못하던 아브람의 아내 사래는 몸종 하갈을 통해 이스마엘을 낳게 했다. 아브람의 나이 99세 때, 하나님께서 아브람과 사래의 이름을 아브라함과 사라로 바꿀 것을 명하시고 언약의 후손 이삭이 태어날 것을 말씀하셨다. 그리고 집안의 모든 남자들에게 언약의 표인 할례를 시행하게 하셨다.
  
  이스마엘의 출생(16:1-16:16)    
 
  1. Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
  2. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
  3. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
  4. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
  5. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.
  1. アブラム の 妻 サライ には， 子供が 生まれなかった． 彼女には， ハガル という エジプト 人の 女奴隷がいた．
  2. サライ は アブラム に 言った． 「主はわたしに 子供を 授けてくださいません． どうぞ， わたしの 女奴隷のところに 入ってください． わたしは 彼女によって， 子供を 與えられるかもしれません． 」 アブラム は， サライ の 願いを 聞き 入れた．
  3. アブラム の 妻 サライ は， エジプト 人の 女奴隷 ハガル を 連れて 來て， 夫 アブラム の 側女とした． アブラム が カナン 地方に 住んでから， 十年後のことであった．
  4. アブラム は ハガル のところに 入り， 彼女は 身ごもった． ところが， 自分が 身ごもったのを 知ると， 彼女は 女主人を 輕んじた．
  5. サライ は アブラム に 言った． 「わたしが 不當な 目に 遭ったのは， あなたのせいです． 女奴隷をあなたのふところに 與えたのはわたしなのに， 彼女は 自分が 身ごもったのを 知ると， わたしを 輕んじるようになりました． 主がわたしとあなたとの 間を 裁かれますように． 」
  1. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.
  2. And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
  3. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
  4. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
  5. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
  1. アブラム は サライ に 答えた． 「あなたの 女奴隷はあなたのものだ． 好きなようにするがいい． 」 サライ は 彼女につらく 當たったので， 彼女は サライ のもとから 逃げた．
  2. 主の 御使いが 荒れ 野の 泉のほとり， シュル 街道に 沿う 泉のほとりで 彼女と 出會って，
  3. 言った． 「サライ の 女奴隷 ハガル よ． あなたはどこから 來て， どこへ 行こうとしているのか． 」「女主人 サライ のもとから 逃げているところです 」と 答えると，
  4. 主の 御使いは 言った． 「女主人のもとに 歸り， 從順に 仕えなさい． 」
  5. 主の 御使いは 更に 言った． 「わたしは， あなたの 子孫を 數えきれないほど 多く 增やす． 」
  1. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
  2. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
  3. And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
  4. Wherefore the well was called Beerlahairoi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
  5. And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
  1. 主の 御使いはまた 言った． 「今， あなたは 身ごもっている． やがてあなたは 男の 子を 産む． その 子を イシュマエル と 名付けなさい ／主があなたの 惱みをお 聞きになられたから．
  2. 彼は 野生のろばのような 人になる． 彼があらゆる 人にこぶしを 振りかざすので ／人¿は 皆， 彼にこぶしを 振るう． 彼は 兄弟すべてに 敵對して 暮らす． 」
  3. ハガル は 自分に 語りかけた 主の 御名を 呼んで， 「あなたこそ エル · ロイ （わたしを 顧みられる 神 ）です 」と 言った． それは， 彼女が， 「神がわたしを 顧みられた 後もなお， わたしはここで 見續けていたではないか 」と 言ったからである．

  1. And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.
  1. ハガル が イシュマエル を 産んだとき， アブラム は 八十六歲であった．
 
  언약의 표인 할례(17:1-17:27)    
 
  1. And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
  2. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
  3. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
  4. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
  5. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
  1. アブラム が 九十九歲になったとき， 主は アブラム に 現れて 言われた． 「わたしは 全能の 神である． あなたはわたしに 從って 步み， 全き 者となりなさい．
  2. わたしは， あなたとの 間にわたしの 契約を 立て， あなたをますます 增やすであろう． 」
  3. アブラム はひれ 伏した． 神は 更に， 語りかけて 言われた．
  4. 「これがあなたと 結ぶわたしの 契約である． あなたは 多くの 國民の 父となる．
  5. あなたは， もはや アブラム ではなく， アブラハム と 名乘りなさい． あなたを 多くの 國民の 父とするからである．
  1. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
  2. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
  3. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
  4. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
  5. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
  1. わたしは， あなたをますます 繁榮させ， 諸國民の 父とする． 王となる 者たちがあなたから 出るであろう．
  2. わたしは， あなたとの 間に， また 後に 續く 子孫との 間に 契約を 立て， それを 永遠の 契約とする． そして， あなたとあなたの 子孫の 神となる．
  3. わたしは， あなたが 滯在しているこの カナン のすべての 土地を， あなたとその 子孫に， 永久の 所有地として 與える． わたしは 彼らの 神となる． 」
  4. 神はまた， アブラハム に 言われた． 「だからあなたも， わたしの 契約を 守りなさい， あなたも 後に 續く 子孫も．
  5. あなたたち， およびあなたの 後に 續く 子孫と， わたしとの 間で 守るべき 契約はこれである． すなわち， あなたたちの 男子はすべて， 割禮を 受ける．
  1. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
  2. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
  3. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
  4. And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
  5. And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
  1. 包皮の 部分を 切り 取りなさい． これが， わたしとあなたたちとの 間の 契約のしるしとなる．
  2. いつの 時代でも， あなたたちの 男子はすべて， 直系の 子孫はもちろんのこと， 家で 生まれた 奴隷も， 外國人から 買い 取った 奴隷であなたの 子孫でない 者も 皆， 生まれてから 八日目に 割禮を 受けなければならない．
  3. あなたの 家で 生まれた 奴隷も， 買い 取った 奴隷も， 必ず 割禮を 受けなければならない． それによって， わたしの 契約はあなたの 體に 記されて 永遠の 契約となる．
  4. 包皮の 部分を 切り 取らない 無割禮の 男がいたなら， その 人は 民の 間から 斷たれる． わたしの 契約を 破ったからである． 」
  5. 神は アブラハム に 言われた． 「あなたの 妻 サライ は， 名前を サライ ではなく， サラ と 呼びなさい．
  1. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
  2. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
  3. And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
  4. And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
  5. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
  1. わたしは 彼女を 祝福し， 彼女によってあなたに 男の 子を 與えよう． わたしは 彼女を 祝福し， 諸國民の 母とする． 諸民族の 王となる 者たちが 彼女から 出る． 」
  2. アブラハム はひれ 伏した． しかし 笑って， ひそかに 言った． 「百歲の 男に 子供が 生まれるだろうか． 九十歲の サラ に 子供が 産めるだろうか． 」
  3. アブラハム は 神に 言った． 「どうか， イシュマエル が 御前に 生き 永らえますように． 」
  4. 神は 言われた． 「いや， あなたの 妻 サラ があなたとの 間に 男の 子を 産む． その 子を イサク （彼は 笑う ）と 名付けなさい． わたしは 彼と 契約を 立て， 彼の 子孫のために 永遠の 契約とする．
  5. イシュマエル についての 願いも 聞き 入れよう． 必ず， わたしは 彼を 祝福し， 大いに 子供を 增やし 繁榮させる． 彼は 十二人の 首長の 父となろう． わたしは 彼を 大いなる 國民とする．
  1. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
  2. And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
  3. And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.
  4. And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
  5. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
  1. しかし， わたしの 契約は， 來年の 今ごろ， サラ があなたとの 間に 産む イサク と 立てる． 」
  2. 神はこう 語り 終えると， アブラハム を 離れて 昇って 行かれた．
  3. アブラハム は， 息子の イシュマエル をはじめ， 家で 生まれた 奴隷や 買い 取った 奴隷など， 自分の 家にいる 人¿のうち， 男子を 皆集めて， すぐその 日に， 神が 命じられたとおり 包皮に 割禮を 施した．
  4. アブラハム が 包皮に 割禮を 受けたのは， 九十九歲，
  5. 息子 イシュマエル が 包皮に 割禮を 受けたのは， 十三歲であった．
  1. In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
  2. And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
  1. アブラハム と 息子の イシュマエル は， すぐその 日に 割禮を 受けた．
  2. アブラハム の 家の 男子は， 家で 生まれた 奴隷も 外國人から 買い 取った 奴隷も 皆， 共に 割禮を 受けた．
