- Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
- And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
- For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
- And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
- Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

- ファリサイ 派の 人¿と 數人の 律法學者たちが， エルサレム から 來て， イエス のもとに 集まった．
- そして， イエス の 弟子たちの 中に 汚れた 手， つまり 洗わない 手で 食事をする 者がいるのを 見た．
- ―― ファリサイ 派の 人¿をはじめ ユダヤ 人は 皆， 昔の 人の 言い 傳えを 固く 守って， 念入りに 手を 洗ってからでないと 食事をせず，
- また， 市場から 歸ったときには， 身を 淸めてからでないと 食事をしない． そのほか， 杯， 鉢， 銅の 器や 寢台を 洗うことなど， 昔から 受け 繼いで 固く 守っていることがたくさんある． ――
- そこで， ファリサイ 派の 人¿と 律法學者たちが 尋ねた． 「なぜ， あなたの 弟子たちは 昔の 人の 言い 傳えに 從って 步まず， 汚れた 手で 食事をするのですか． 」

- He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
- Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
- For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
- And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
- For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

- イエス は 言われた． 「イザヤ は， あなたたちのような 僞善者のことを 見事に 預言したものだ． 彼はこう 書いている． 『この 民は 口先ではわたしを 敬うが， ／その 心はわたしから 遠く 離れている．
- 人間の 戒めを 敎えとしておしえ， ／むなしくわたしをあがめている． 』
- あなたたちは 神の ¿を 捨てて， 人間の 言い 傳えを 固く 守っている． 」
- 更に， イエス は 言われた． 「あなたたちは 自分の 言い 傳えを 大事にして， よくも 神の ¿をないがしろにしたものである．
- モ ― セ は， 『父と 母を 敬え 』と 言い， 『父または 母をののしる 者は 死刑に 處せられるべきである 』とも 言っている．

- But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
- And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
- Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
- And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
- There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

- それなのに， あなたたちは 言っている． 『もし， だれかが 父または 母に 對して， 「あなたに 差し 上げるべきものは， 何でも コルバン ， つまり 神への 供え 物です 」と 言えば，
- その 人はもはや 父または 母に 對して 何もしないで 濟むのだ 』と．
- こうして， あなたたちは， 受け 繼いだ 言い 傳えで 神の 言葉を 無にしている． また， これと 同じようなことをたくさん 行っている． 」
- それから， イエス は 再び 群衆を 呼び 寄せて 言われた． 「皆， わたしの 言うことを 聞いて 悟りなさい．
- 外から 人の 體に 入るもので 人を 汚すことができるものは 何もなく， 人の 中から 出て 來るものが， 人を 汚すのである． 」

- If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
- And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
- And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
- Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
- And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

- ＊聞く 耳のある 者は 聞きなさい．
- イエス が 群衆と 別れて 家に 入られると， 弟子たちはこのたとえについて 尋ねた．
- イエス は 言われた． 「あなたがたも， そんなに 物分かりが 惡いのか． すべて 外から 人の 體に 入るものは， 人を 汚すことができないことが 分からないのか．
- それは 人の 心の 中に 入るのではなく， 腹の 中に 入り， そして 外に 出される． こうして， すべての 食べ 物は 淸められる． 」
- 更に， 次のように 言われた． 「人から 出て 來るものこそ， 人を 汚す．

- For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
- Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
- All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

- 中から， つまり 人間の 心から， 惡い 思いが 出て 來るからである． みだらな 行い， 盜み， 殺意，
- 姦淫， ·欲， 惡意， 詐欺， 好色， ねたみ， 惡口， 傲慢， 無分別など，
- これらの 惡はみな 中から 出て 來て， 人を 汚すのである． 」
