- When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
- And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
- Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
- Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
- They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

- こう 話し 終えると， イエス は 弟子たちと 一緖に， キドロン の 谷の 向こうへ 出て 行かれた． そこには 園があり， イエス は 弟子たちとその 中に 入られた．
- イエス を 裏切ろうとしていた ユダ も， その 場所を 知っていた． イエス は， 弟子たちと 共に 度¿ここに 集まっておられたからである．
- それで ユダ は， 一隊の 兵士と， 祭司長たちや ファリサイ 派の 人¿の 遣わした 下役たちを 引き 連れて， そこにやって 來た． 松明やともし 火や 武器を 手にしていた．
- イエス は 御自分の 身に 起こることを 何もかも 知っておられ， 進み 出て， 「だれを 搜しているのか 」と 言われた．
- 彼らが「ナザレ の イエス だ 」と 答えると， イエス は「わたしである 」と 言われた． イエス を 裏切ろうとしていた ユダ も 彼らと 一緖にいた．

- As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
- Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
- Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
- That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
- Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

- イエス が「わたしである 」と 言われたとき， 彼らは 後ずさりして， 地に 倒れた．
- そこで， イエス が「だれを 搜しているのか 」と 重ねてお 尋ねになると， 彼らは「ナザレ の イエス だ 」と 言った．
- すると， イエス は 言われた． 「『わたしである 』と 言ったではないか． わたしを 搜しているのなら， この 人¿は 去らせなさい． 」
- それは， 「あなたが 與えてくださった 人を， わたしは 一人も 失いませんでした 」と 言われた イエス の 言葉が 實現するためであった．
- シモン · ペトロ は 劍を 持っていたので， それを 拔いて 大祭司の 手下に 打ってかかり， その 右の 耳を 切り 落とした． 手下の 名は マルコス であった．

- Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
- Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
- And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
- Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
- And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.

- イエス は ペトロ に 言われた． 「劍をさやに 納めなさい． 父がお 與えになった 杯は， 飮むべきではないか． 」
- そこで 一隊の 兵士と 千人隊長， および ユダヤ 人の 下役たちは， イエス を 捕らえて 縛り，
- まず， アンナス のところへ 連れて 行った． 彼が， その 年の 大祭司 カイアファ のしゅうとだったからである．
- 一人の 人間が 民の 代わりに 死ぬ 方が 好都合だと， ユダヤ 人たちに 助言したのは， この カイアファ であった．
- シモン · ペトロ ともう 一人の 弟子は， イエス に 從った． この 弟子は 大祭司の 知り 合いだったので， イエス と 一緖に 大祭司の 屋敷の 中庭に 入ったが，

- But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
- Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
- And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
- The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
- Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

- ペトロ は 門の 外に 立っていた． 大祭司の 知り 合いである， そのもう 一人の 弟子は， 出て 來て 門番の 女に 話し， ペトロ を 中に 入れた．
- 門番の 女中は ペトロ に 言った． 「あなたも， あの 人の 弟子の 一人ではありませんか． 」 ペトロ は， 「違う 」と 言った．
- 僕や 下役たちは， 寒かったので 炭火をおこし， そこに 立って 火にあたっていた． ペトロ も 彼らと 一緖に 立って， 火にあたっていた．
- 大祭司は イエス に 弟子のことや 敎えについて 尋ねた．
- イエス は 答えられた． 「わたしは， 世に 向かって 公然と 話した． わたしはいつも， ユダヤ 人が 皆集まる 會堂や 神殿の 境內で 敎えた． ひそかに 話したことは 何もない．

- Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
- And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
- Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
- Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
- And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.

- なぜ， わたしを 尋問するのか． わたしが 何を 話したかは， それを 聞いた 人¿に 尋ねるがよい． その 人¿がわたしの 話したことを 知っている． 」
- イエス がこう 言われると， そばにいた 下役の 一人が， 「大祭司に 向かって， そんな 返事のしかたがあるか 」と 言って， イエス を 平手で 打った．
- イエス は 答えられた． 「何か 惡いことをわたしが 言ったのなら， その 惡いところを 證明しなさい． 正しいことを 言ったのなら， なぜわたしを 打つのか． 」
- アンナス は， イエス を 縛ったまま， 大祭司 カイアファ のもとに 送った．
- シモン · ペトロ は 立って 火にあたっていた． 人¿が， 「お 前もあの 男の 弟子の 一人ではないのか 」と 言うと， ペトロ は 打ち 消して， 「違う 」と 言った．

- One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
- Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.

- 大祭司の 僕の 一人で， ペトロ に 片方の 耳を 切り 落とされた 人の 身內の 者が 言った． 「園であの 男と 一緖にいるのを， わたしに 見られたではないか． 」
- ペトロ は， 再び 打ち 消した． するとすぐ， 鷄が 鳴いた．
