- Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
- For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
- For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
- That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
- Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

- さて， 兄弟たち， 主 イエス に 結ばれた 者としてわたしたちは 更に 願い， また 勸めます． あなたがたは， 神に 喜ばれるためにどのように 步むべきかを， わたしたちから 學びました． そして， 現にそのように 步んでいますが， どうか， その 步みを 今後も 更に 續けてください．
- わたしたちが 主 イエス によってどのように 命令したか， あなたがたはよく 知っているはずです．
- 實に， 神の 御心は， あなたがたが 聖なる 者となることです． すなわち， みだらな 行いを 避け，
- おのおの 汚れのない 心と 尊敬の 念をもって 妻と 生活するように 學ばねばならず，
- 神を 知らない 異邦人のように 情欲におぼれてはならないのです．

- That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
- For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
- He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
- But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
- And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

- このようなことで， 兄弟を 踏みつけたり， 欺いたりしてはいけません． わたしたちが 以前にも 告げ， また 嚴しく 戒めておいたように， 主はこれらすべてのことについて 罰をお 與えになるからです．
- 神がわたしたちを 招かれたのは， 汚れた 生き 方ではなく， 聖なる 生活をさせるためです．
- ですから， これらの 警告を 拒む 者は， 人を 拒むのではなく， 御自分の 聖靈をあなたがたの 內に 與えてくださる 神を 拒むことになるのです．
- 兄弟愛については， あなたがたに 書く 必要はありません． あなたがた 自身， 互いに 愛し 合うように， 神から 敎えられているからです．
- 現にあなたがたは， マケドニア 州全土に 住むすべての 兄弟に， それを 實行しています． しかし， 兄弟たち， なおいっそう 勵むように 勸めます．

- And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
- That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
- But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
- For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
- For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

- そして， わたしたちが 命じておいたように， 落ち 着いた 生活をし， 自分の 仕事に 勵み， 自分の 手で ¿くように 努めなさい．
- そうすれば， 外部の 人¿に 對して 品位をもって 步み， だれにも 迷惑をかけないで 濟むでしょう．
- 兄弟たち， 旣に 眠りについた 人たちについては， 希望を 持たないほかの 人¿のように 嘆き 悲しまないために， ぜひ 次のことを 知っておいてほしい．
- イエス が 死んで 復活されたと， わたしたちは 信じています． 神は 同じように， イエス を 信じて 眠りについた 人たちをも， イエス と 一緖に 導き 出してくださいます．
- 主の 言葉に 基づいて 次のことを 傳えます． 主が 來られる 日まで 生き 殘るわたしたちが， 眠りについた 人たちより 先になることは， 決してありません．

- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
- Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

- すなわち， 合圖の 號令がかかり， 大天使の 聲が 聞こえて， 神の ラッパ が 鳴り 響くと， 主御自身が 天から 降って 來られます． すると， キリスト に 結ばれて 死んだ 人たちが， まず 最初に 復活し，
- それから， わたしたち 生き 殘っている 者が， 空中で 主と 出會うために， 彼らと 一緖に 雲に 包まれて 引き 上げられます． このようにして， わたしたちはいつまでも 主と 共にいることになります．
- ですから， 今述べた 言葉によって 勵まし 合いなさい．
