- Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

- Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

- 富んでいる 人たち， よく 聞きなさい． 自分にふりかかってくる 不幸を 思って， 泣きわめきなさい．
- あなたがたの 富は 朽ち 果て， 衣服には 蟲が 付き，
- 金銀もさびてしまいます． このさびこそが， あなたがたの 罪の 證據となり， あなたがたの 肉を 火のように 食い 盡くすでしょう． あなたがたは， この 終わりの 時のために 寶を 蓄えたのでした．
- 御覽なさい． 畑を 刈り 入れた 勞¿者にあなたがたが 支拂わなかった 賃金が， 叫び 聲をあげています． 刈り 入れをした 人¿の 叫びは， 万軍の 主の 耳に 達しました．
- あなたがたは， 地上でぜいたくに 暮らして， 快樂にふけり， 屠られる 日に 備え， 自分の 心を 太らせ，

- Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
- Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
- Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
- Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

- 正しい 人を 罪に 定めて， 殺した． その 人は， あなたがたに 抵抗していません．
- 兄弟たち， 主が 來られるときまで 忍耐しなさい． 農夫は， 秋の 雨と 春の 雨が 降るまで 忍耐しながら， 大地の 尊い 實りを 待つのです．
- あなたがたも 忍耐しなさい． 心を 固く 保ちなさい． 主が 來られる 時が 迫っているからです．
- 兄弟たち， 裁きを 受けないようにするためには， 互いに 不平を 言わぬことです． 裁く 方が 戶口に 立っておられます．
- 兄弟たち， 主の 名によって 語った 預言者たちを， 辛抱と 忍耐の 模範としなさい．

- Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
- But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
- Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

- 罪人を 迷いの 道から 連れ 戾す 人は， その 罪人の 魂を 死から 救い 出し， 多くの 罪を 覆うことになると， 知るべきです．
