- They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
- Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
- Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
- And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
- They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

- 그들이 또 브올의 바알과 연합하여 죽은 자에게 제사한 음식을 먹어서
- 그 행위로 주를 격노하게 함으로써 재앙이 그들 중에 크게 유행하였도다
- 그 때에 비느하스가 일어서서 중재하니 이에 재앙이 그쳤도다
- 이 일이 그의 의로 인정되었으니 대대로 영원까지로다
- 그들이 또 므리바 물에서 여호와를 노하시게 하였으므로 그들 때문에 재난이 모세에게 이르렀나니

- Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
- They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
- But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
- And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
- Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

- 이는 그들이 그의 뜻을 거역함으로 말미암아 모세가 그의 입술로 망령되이 말하였음이로다
- 그들은 여호와께서 멸하라고 말씀하신 그 이방 민족들을 멸하지 아니하고
- 그 이방 나라들과 섞여서 그들의 행위를 배우며
- 그들의 우상들을 섬기므로 그것들이 그들에게 올무가 되었도다
- 그들이 그들의 자녀를 악귀들에게 희생제물로 바쳤도다

- And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
- Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

- 무죄한 피 곧 그들의 자녀의 피를 흘려 가나안의 우상들에게 제사하므로 그 땅이 피로 더러워졌도다
- 그들은 그들의 행위로 더러워지니 그들의 행동이 음탕하도다
