- And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
- And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
- And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
- But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
- But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

- イエス はそこをたち， 通りがかりに， マタイ という 人が 收稅所に 座っているのを 見かけて， 「わたしに 從いなさい 」と 言われた． 彼は 立ち 上がって イエス に 從った．
- イエス がその 家で 食事をしておられたときのことである． 徵稅人や 罪人も 大勢やって 來て， イエス や 弟子たちと 同席していた．
- ファリサイ 派の 人¿はこれを 見て， 弟子たちに， 「なぜ， あなたたちの 先生は 徵稅人や 罪人と 一緖に 食事をするのか 」と 言った．
- イエス はこれを 聞いて 言われた． 「醫者を 必要とするのは， 丈夫な 人ではなく 病人である．
- 『わたしが 求めるのは 憐れみであって， いけにえではない 』とはどういう 意味か， 行って 學びなさい． わたしが 來たのは， 正しい 人を 招くためではなく， 罪人を 招くためである． 」

- Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
- And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
- No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
- Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
- While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

- そのころ， ヨハネ の 弟子たちが イエス のところに 來て， 「わたしたちと ファリサイ 派の 人¿はよく 斷食しているのに， なぜ， あなたの 弟子たちは 斷食しないのですか 」と 言った．
- イエス は 言われた． 「花¿が 一緖にいる 間， 婚禮の 客は 悲しむことができるだろうか． しかし， 花¿が 奪い 取られる 時が 來る． そのとき， 彼らは 斷食することになる．
- だれも， 織りたての 布から 布切れを 取って， 古い 服に 繼ぎを 當てたりはしない． 新しい 布切れが 服を 引き 裂き， 破れはいっそうひどくなるからだ．
- 新しいぶどう 酒を 古い 革袋に 入れる 者はいない． そんなことをすれば， 革袋は 破れ， ぶどう 酒は 流れ 出て， 革袋もだめになる． 新しいぶどう 酒は， 新しい 革袋に 入れるものだ． そうすれば， 兩方とも 長もちする． 」
- イエス がこのようなことを 話しておられると， ある 指導者がそばに 來て， ひれ 伏して 言った． 「わたしの 娘がたったいま 死にました． でも， おいでになって 手を 置いてやってください． そうすれば， 生き 返るでしょう． 」

- And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
- And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
- For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
- But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
- And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

- そこで， イエス は 立ち 上がり， 彼について 行かれた． 弟子たちも 一緖だった．
- すると， そこへ 十二年間も 患って 出血が 續いている 女が 近寄って 來て， 後ろから イエス の 服の 房に 觸れた．
- 「この 方の 服に 觸れさえすれば 治してもらえる 」と 思ったからである．
- イエス は 振り 向いて， 彼女を 見ながら 言われた． 「娘よ， 元氣になりなさい． あなたの 信仰があなたを 救った． 」そのとき， 彼女は 治った．
- イエス は 指導者の 家に 行き， 笛を 吹く 者たちや ¿いでいる 群衆を 御覽になって，

- He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
- But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
- And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

- 言われた． 「あちらへ 行きなさい． 少女は 死んだのではない． 眠っているのだ． 」人¿は イエス をあざ 笑った．
- 群衆を 外に 出すと， イエス は 家の 中に 入り， 少女の 手をお 取りになった． すると， 少女は 起き 上がった．
- このうわさはその 地方一帶に 廣まった．
