- And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
- To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
- And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
- And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
- And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

- ところで， その 六か 月目に， 御使い ガブリエル が， 神から 遣わされて ガリラヤ の ナザレ という 町のひとりの 處女のところに 來た．
- この 處女は， ダビデ の 家系の ヨセフ という 人のいいなずけで， 名を マリヤ といった．
- 御使いは， はいって 來ると， マリヤ に 言った． 「おめでとう， 惠まれた 方． 主があなたとともにおられます． 」
- しかし， マリヤ はこのことばに， ひどくとまどって， これはいったい 何のあいさつかと 考え ¿んだ．
- すると 御使いが 言った． 「こわがることはない． マリヤ ． あなたは 神から 惠みを 受けたのです．

- And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
- He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
- And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
- Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
- And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

- ご 覽なさい． あなたはみごもって， 男の 子を 産みます． 名を イエス とつけなさい．
- その 子はすぐれた 者となり， いと 高き 方の 子と 呼ばれます． また， 神である 主は 彼にその 父 ダビデ の 王位をお 與えになります．
- 彼はとこしえに ヤコブ の 家を 治め， その 國は 終わることがありません． 」
- そこで， マリヤ は 御使いに 言った． 「どうしてそのようなことになりえましょう． 私はまだ 男の 人を 知りませんのに． 」
- 御使いは 答えて 言った． 「聖靈があなたの 上に 臨み， いと 高き 方の 力があなたをおおいます． それゆえ， 生まれる 者は， 聖なる 者， 神の 子と 呼ばれます．

- And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
- For with God nothing shall be impossible.
- And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
- And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
- And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

- ご 覽なさい． あなたの 親類の エリサベツ も， あの 年になって 男の 子を 宿しています． 不妊の 女といわれていた 人なのに， 今はもう 六か 月です．
- 神にとって 不可能なことは 一つもありません． 」
- マリヤ は 言った． 「ほんとうに， 私は 主のはしためです． どうぞ， あなたのおことばどおりこの 身になりますように． 」こうして 御使いは 彼女から 去って 行った．
- そのころ， マリヤ は 立って， 山地にある ユダ の 町に 急いだ．
- そして ザカリヤ の 家に 行って， エリサベツ にあいさつした．

- And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
- And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
- And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
- For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
- And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

- エリサベツ が マリヤ のあいさつを 聞いたとき， 子が 胎內でおどり， エリサベツ は 聖靈に 滿たされた．
- そして 大聲をあげて 言った． 「あなたは 女の 中の 祝福された 方． あなたの 胎の 實も 祝福されています．
- 私の 主の 母が 私のところに 來られるとは， 何ということでしょう．
- ほんとうに， あなたのあいさつの 聲が 私の 耳にはいったとき， 私の 胎內で 子どもが 喜んでおどりました．
- 主によって 語られたことは 必ず 實現すると 信じきった 人は， 何と 幸いなことでしょう． 」

- And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
- And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
- For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
- For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
- And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

- マリヤ は 言った． 「わがたましいは 主をあがめ，
- わが 靈は， わが 救い 主なる 神を 喜びたたえます．
- 主はこの 卑しいはしために 目を 留めてくださったからです． ほんとうに， これから 後， どの 時代の 人¿も， 私をしあわせ 者と 思うでしょう．
- 力ある 方が， 私に 大きなことをしてくださいました． その 御名は 聖く，
- そのあわれみは， 主を 恐れかしこむ 者に， 代¿にわたって 及びます．

- He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
- He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
- He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
- He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
- As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

- 主は， 御腕をもって 力强いわざをなし， 心の 思いの 高ぶっている 者を 追い 散らし，
- 權力ある 者を 王位から 引き 降ろされます． 低い 者を 高く 引き 上げ，
- 飢えた 者を 良いもので 滿ち 足らせ， 富む 者を 何も 持たせないで 追い 返されました．
- 主はそのあわれみをいつまでも 忘れないで， そのしもべ イスラエル をお 助けになりました．
- 私たちの 先祖たち， アブラハム とその 子孫に 語られたとおりです． 」

- And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.

- マリヤ は 三か 月ほど エリサベツ と 暮らして， 家に 歸った．
