- I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
- For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
- For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
- Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
- For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

- 나는 무엇보다도 먼저 이것을 권합니다. 그대는 모든 사람을 위하여 하나님께 열심히 기도하며 감사하시오.
- 왕들과 높은 자리에 있는 모든 사람들을 위해서도 그렇게 하시오. 그것은 안정되고 평온한 가운데서 경건하고 거룩한 생활을 하기 위한 것입니다.
- 이런 생활은 아름다운 것이며 우리 구주 하나님을 기쁘게 해 드리는 일입니다.
- 하나님께서는 모든 사람이 다 구원받고 진리를 알게 되기를 원하십니다.
- 하나님은 한 분뿐이시며 하나님과 사람 사이의 중재자도 한 분뿐이시니 그분이 바로 사람이신 그리스도 예수님이십니다.

- Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
- Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
- I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

- 그리스도 예수님은 모든 사람을 구원하시려고 자신을 바쳤습니다. 이것은 하나님께서 때가 되어 약속을 이루신 증거입니다.
- 나는 이 그리스도를 전하기 위해 전도자와 사도로 임명을 받았으며 믿음과 진리 안에서 이방인의 스승이 되었습니다. 이것은 거짓말이 아닌 사실입니다.
- 그러므로 남자들은 화를 내거나 다투지 말고 어디서나 거룩한 손을 들어 기도하기 바랍니다.
