- Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
- Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
- Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
- Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
- Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

- 부자들은 들으십시오. 여러분에게 닥쳐올 비참한 일들을 생각하고 울며 부르짖으십시오.
- 여러분의 재물은 썩고, 여러분의 옷들은 좀먹었습니다.
- 여러분의 금과 은은 녹이 슬었으니, 그 녹은 장차 여러분을 고발할 증거가 될 것이요, 불과 같이 여러분의 살을 먹을 것입니다. 여러분은 세상 마지막 날에도 재물을 쌓았습니다.
- 보십시오, 여러분의 밭에서 곡식을 벤 일꾼들에게 주지 않고 가로챈 품삯이 소리를 지르고 있습니다. 그래서 그 일꾼들의 아우성소리가 전능하신 주님의 귀에 들어갔습니다.
- 여러분은 이 땅 위에서 사치와 쾌락을 누렸으며, 살육의 날에 마음을 살찌게 하였습니다.

- Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
- Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
- Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
- Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
- Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

- 여러분은 의인을 정죄하고 죽였지만, 그는 여러분에게 대항하지 않았습니다.
- 그러므로 형제자매 여러분, 주님께서 오실 때까지 참고 견디십시오. 보십시오, 농부는 이른 비와 늦은 비가 땅에 내리기까지 오래 참으며, 땅의 귀한 소출을 기다립니다.
- 여러분도 참으십시오. 마음을 굳게 하십시오. 주님께서 오실 때가 가깝습니다.
- 형제자매 여러분, 심판을 받지 않으려거든, 서로 원망하지 마십시오. 보십시오, 심판하실 분께서 이미 문 앞에 서 계십니다.
- 형제자매 여러분, 주님의 이름으로 예언한 예언자들을 고난과 인내의 본보기로 삼으십시오.

- Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
- But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
- Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
- Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
- And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

- 보십시오. 참고 견딘 사람은 복되다고 우리는 생각합니다. 여러분은 욥이 어떻게 참고 견디었는지를 들었고, 또 주님께서 나중에 그에게 어떻게 하셨는지를 알고 있습니다. 주님은 가여워하시는 마음이 넘치고, 불쌍히 여기시는 마음이 크십니다.
- 나의 형제자매 여러분, 무엇보다도 맹세하지 마십시오. 하늘이나 땅이나 그 밖에 무엇을 두고도 맹세하지 마십시오. 다만, "예" 해야 할 경우에는 오직 "예"라고만 하고, "아니오" 해야 할 경우에는 오직 "아니오"라고만 하십시오. 그렇게 해야 여러분은 심판을 받지 않을 것입니다.
- 여러분 가운데 고난을 받는 사람이 있습니까? 그런 사람은 기도하십시오. 즐거운 사람이 있습니까? 그런 사람은 찬송하십시오.
- 여러분 가운데 병든 사람이 있습니까? 그런 사람은 교회의 장로들을 부르십시오. 그리고 그 장로들은 주님의 이름으로 그에게 기름을 바르고, 그를 위하여 기도하여 주십시오.
- 믿음으로 간절히 드리는 기도는 병든 사람을 낫게 할 것이니, 주님께서 그를 일으켜 주실 것입니다. 또 그가 죄를 지은 것이 있으면, 용서를 받을 것입니다.

- Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
- Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
- And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
- Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
- Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

- 그러므로 여러분은 서로 죄를 고백하고, 서로를 위하여 기도하십시오. 그러면 여러분은 낫게 될 것입니다. 의인이 간절히 비는 기도는 큰 효력을 냅니다.
- 엘리야는 우리와 같은 본성을 가진 사람이었지만, 비가 오지 않도록 해 달라고 간절히 기도하니, 삼 년 육 개월 동안이나 땅에 비가 내리지 않았으며,
- 다시 기도하니, 하늘이 비를 내리고, 땅은 그 열매를 맺었습니다.
- 나의 형제자매 여러분, 여러분 가운데서 진리를 떠나 그릇된 길을 가는 사람이 있을 때에, 누구든지 그를 돌아서게 하는 사람은
- 이 사실을 알아두십시오. 죄인을 그릇된 길에서 돌아서게 하는 사람은 그 죄인의 영혼을 죽음에서 구할 것이고, 또 많은 죄를 덮어줄 것입니다.
