- Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
- Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

- 聞きなさい． 金持ちたち． あなたがたの 上に 迫って 來る 悲慘を 思って 泣き 叫びなさい．
- あなたがたの 富は 腐っており， あなたがたの 着物は 蟲に 食われており，
- あなたがたの 金銀にはさびが 來て， そのさびが， あなたがたを 責める 證言となり， あなたがたの 肉を 火のように 食い 盡くします． あなたがたは， 終わりの 日に 財寶をたくわえました．
- 見なさい． あなたがたの 畑の 刈り 入れをした 勞¿者への 未拂い 賃金が， 叫び 聲をあげています． そして， 取り 入れをした 人たちの 叫び 聲は， 万軍の 主の 耳に 屆いています．
- あなたがたは， 地上でぜいたくに 暮らし， 快樂にふけり， 殺される 日にあたって 自分の 心を 太らせました．

- Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
- Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
- Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
- Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
- Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

- 苦難と 忍耐については， 兄弟たち， 主の 御名によって 語った 預言者たちを 模範にしなさい．

- Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
- But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
- Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
- Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
