잠언 18:20-19:7

 성실하고 마음이 너그러운 자는 지혜가 있으나, 입술이 패려한 자나 야웨를 원망하는 자나 거짓 증언하는 자는 지혜가 없다.
  
 
  1. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
  2. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
  3. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
  4. The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
  5. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
  1. 人は 自分の 言葉の 結ぶ 實によって， 滿ち 足り， そのくちびるの 産物によって 自ら 飽きる．
  2. 死と 生とは 舌に 支配される， これを 愛する 者はその 實を 食べる．
  3. 妻を 得る 者は， 良き 物を 得る， かつ 主から 惠みを 與えられる．
  4. 貧しい 者は， あわれみを 請い， 富める 者は， はげしい 答をする．
  5. 世には 友らしい 見せかけの 友がある， しかし 兄弟よりもたのもしい 友もある．
 
 
  1. Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
  2. Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
  3. The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
  4. Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
  5. A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
  1. 正しく 步む 貧しい 者は， 曲ったことを 言う 愚かな 者にまさる．
  2. 人が 知識のないのは 良くない， 足で 急ぐ 者は 道に 迷う．
  3. 人は 自分の 愚かさによって 道につまずき， かえって 心のうちに 主をうらむ．
  4. 富は 多くの 新しい 友を 作る， しかし 貧しい 人はその 友に 捨てられる．
  5. 僞りの 證人は 罰を 免れない， 僞りをいう 者はのがれることができない．
  1. Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
  2. All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
  1. 氣前のよい 人にこびる 者は 多い， 人はみな 贈り 物をする 人の 友となる．
  2. 貧しい 者はその 兄弟すらもみなこれを 憎む， ましてその 友はこれに 遠ざからないであろうか． 言葉をかけてこれを 呼んでも， 去って 歸らないのである．
