- もとより， 肉の 賴みなら， わたしにも 無くはない． もし， だれかほかの 人が 肉を 賴みとしていると 言うなら， わたしはそれをもっと 賴みとしている．
- わたしは 八日目に 割禮を 受けた 者， イスラエル の 民族に 屬する 者， ベニヤミン 族の 出身， ヘブル 人の 中の ヘブル 人， 律法の 上では パリサイ 人，
- 熱心の 点では 敎會の 迫害者， 律法の 義については 落ち 度のない 者である．
- しかし， わたしにとって 益であったこれらのものを， キリスト のゆえに 損と 思うようになった．
- わたしは， 更に 進んで， わたしの 主 キリスト · イエス を 知る 知識の 絶大な 價値のゆえに， いっさいのものを 損と 思っている． キリスト のゆえに， わたしはすべてを 失ったが， それらのものを， ふん 土のように 思っている． それは， わたしが キリスト を 得るためであり，

- though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:
- circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee;
- as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.
- But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
- What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ

- 律法による 自分の 義ではなく， キリスト を 信じる 信仰による 義， すなわち， 信仰に 基く 神からの 義を 受けて， キリスト のうちに 自分を 見いだすようになるためである．
- すなわち， キリスト とその 復活の 力とを 知り， その 苦難にあずかって， その 死のさまとひとしくなり，
- なんとかして 死人のうちからの 復活に 達したいのである．
- わたしがすでにそれを 得たとか， すでに 完全な 者になっているとか 言うのではなく， ただ 捕えようとして 追い 求めているのである． そうするのは， キリスト · イエス によって 捕えられているからである．
- 兄弟たちよ． わたしはすでに 捕えたとは 思っていない． ただこの 一事を 努めている． すなわち， 後のものを 忘れ， 前のものに 向かってからだを 伸ばしつつ，

- and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.
- I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
- and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
- Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
- Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

- 目標を 目ざして 走り， キリスト · イエス において 上に 召して 下さる 神の 賞與を 得ようと 努めているのである．
- だから， わたしたちの 中で 全き 人たちは， そのように 考えるべきである． しかし， あなたがたが 違った 考えを 持っているなら， 神はそのことも 示して 下さるであろう．
- ただ， わたしたちは， 達し 得たところに 從って 進むべきである．
- 兄弟たちよ． どうか， わたしにならう 者となってほしい． また， あなたがたの 模範にされているわたしたちにならって 步く 人たちに， 目をとめなさい．
- わたしがそう 言うのは， キリスト の 十字架に 敵對して 步いている 者が 多いからである． わたしは， 彼らのことをしばしばあなたがたに 話したが， 今また 淚を 流して 語る．

- I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
- All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
- Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
- Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you.
- For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.

- 彼らの 最後は 滅びである． 彼らの 神はその 腹， 彼らの 榮光はその 恥， 彼らの 思いは 地上のことである．
- しかし， わたしたちの 國籍は 天にある． そこから， 救主， 主 イエス · キリスト のこられるのを， わたしたちは 待ち 望んでいる．
- 彼は， 万物をご 自身に 從わせうる 力の ¿きによって， わたしたちの 卑しいからだを， ご 自身の 榮光のからだと 同じかたちに 變えて 下さるであろう．

- Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things.
- But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
- who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
