- しかし， あなたは， 健全な 敎にかなうことを 語りなさい．
- 老人たちには 自らを 制し， 謹嚴で， 愼み 深くし， また， 信仰と 愛と 忍耐とにおいて 健全であるように 勸め，
- 年老いた 女たちにも， 同じように， たち 居ふるまいをうやうやしくし， 人をそしったり 大酒の 奴隷になったりせず， 良いことを 敎える 者となるように， 勸めなさい．
- そうすれば， 彼女たちは， 若い 女たちに， 夫を 愛し， 子供を 愛し，
- 愼み 深く， 純潔で， 家事に 努め， 善良で， 自分の 夫に 從順であるように 敎えることになり， したがって， 神の 言がそしりを 受けないようになるであろう．

- You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.
- Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
- Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
- Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
- to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

- 若い 男にも， 同じく， 万事につけ 愼み 深くあるように， 勸めなさい．
- あなた 自身を 良いわざの 模範として 示し， 人を 敎える 場合には， 淸廉と 謹嚴とをもってし，
- 非難のない 健全な 言葉を 用いなさい． そうすれば， 反對者も， わたしたちについてなんの 惡口も 言えなくなり， 自ら 恥じいるであろう．
- 奴隷には， 万事につけその 主人に 服從して， 喜ばれるようになり， 反抗をせず，
- 盜みをせず， どこまでも 心をこめた 眞實を 示すようにと， 勸めなさい． そうすれば， 彼らは 万事につけ， わたしたちの 救主なる 神の 敎を 飾ることになろう．

- Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.
- In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness
- and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
- Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
- and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.

- すべての 人を 救う 神の 惠みが 現れた．
- そして， わたしたちを 導き， 不信心とこの 世の 情欲とを 捨てて， 愼み 深く， 正しく， 信心深くこの 世で 生活し，
- 祝福に 滿ちた 望み， すなわち， 大いなる 神， わたしたちの 救主 キリスト · イエス の 榮光の 出現を 待ち 望むようにと， 敎えている．
- この キリスト が， わたしたちのためにご 自身をささげられたのは， わたしたちをすべての 不法からあがない 出して， 良いわざに 熱心な 選びの 民を， ご 自身のものとして 聖別するためにほかならない．
- あなたは， 權威をもってこれらのことを 語り， 勸め， また 責めなさい． だれにも 輕んじられてはならない．

- For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
- It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
- while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
- who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
- These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
