- わたしが 少しばかり 愚かなことを 言うのを， どうか， 忍んでほしい． もちろん 忍んでくれるのだ．
- わたしは 神の 熱情をもって， あなたがたを 熱愛している． あなたがたを， きよいおとめとして， ただひとり 男子 キリスト にささげるために， 婚約させたのである．
- ただ 恐れるのは， エバ がへびの 惡巧みで 誘惑されたように， あなたがたの 思いが 汚されて， キリスト に 對する 純情と 貞操とを 失いはしないかということである．
- というのは， もしある 人がきて， わたしたちが 宣べ 傳えもしなかったような 異なる イエス を 宣べ 傳え， あるいは， あなたがたが 受けたことのない 違った 靈を 受け， あるいは， 受けいれたことのない 違った 福音を 聞く 場合に， あなたがたはよくもそれを 忍んでいる．
- 事實， わたしは， あの 大使徒たちにいささかも 劣ってはいないと 思う．

- Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

- たとい 弁舌はつたなくても， 知識はそうでない． わたしは， 事ごとに， いろいろの 場合に， あなたがたに 對してそれを 明らかにした．
- それとも， あなたがたを 高めるために 自分を 低くして， 神の 福音を 價なしにあなたがたに 宣べ 傳えたことが， 罪になるのだろうか．
- わたしは 他の 諸敎會をかすめたと 言われながら 得た 金で， あなたがたに 奉仕し，
- あなたがたの 所にいて 貧乏をした 時にも， だれにも 負擔をかけたことはなかった． わたしの 欠乏は， マケドニヤ からきた 兄弟たちが， 補ってくれた． こうして， わたしはすべての 事につき， あなたがたに 重荷を 負わせまいと 努めてきたし， 今後も 努めよう．
- わたしの 內にある キリスト の 眞實にかけて 言う， この 誇が アカヤ 地方で 封じられるようなことは， 決してない．

- しかし， わたしは， 現在していることを 今後もしていこう． それは， わたしたちと 同じように 誇りうる 立ち 場を 得ようと 機會をねらっている 者どもから， その 機會を 斷ち 切ってしまうためである．
- こういう 人¿はにせ 使徒， 人をだます ¿き 人であって， キリスト の 使徒に 擬裝しているにすぎないからである．
- しかし， 驚くには 及ばない． サタン も 光の 天使に 擬裝するのだから．
- だから， たとい サタン の 手下どもが， 義の 奉仕者のように 擬裝したとしても， 不思議ではない． 彼らの 最期は， そのしわざに 合ったものとなろう．
