- イエス が， ヨハネ よりも 多く 弟子をつくり， また バプテスマ を 授けておられるということを， パリサイ 人たちが 聞き， それを 主が 知られたとき，
- （しかし， イエス みずからが， バプテスマ をお 授けになったのではなく， その 弟子たちであった ）
- ユダヤ を 去って， また ガリラヤ へ 行かれた．
- しかし， イエス は サマリヤ を 通過しなければならなかった．
- そこで， イエス は サマリヤ の スカル という 町においでになった． この 町は， ヤコブ がその 子 ヨセフ に 與えた 土地の 近くにあったが，

- Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
- (although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were),
- He left Judea and went away again into Galilee.
- And He had to pass through Samaria.
- So He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph;

- そこに ヤコブ の 井戶があった． イエス は 旅の 疲れを 覺えて， そのまま， この 井戶のそばにすわっておられた． 時は ¿の 十二時ごろであった．
- ひとりの サマリヤ の 女が 水をくみにきたので， イエス はこの 女に， 「水を 飮ませて 下さい 」と 言われた．
- 弟子たちは 食物を 買いに 町に 行っていたのである．
- すると， サマリヤ の 女は イエス に 言った， 「あなたは ユダヤ 人でありながら， どうして サマリヤ の 女のわたしに， 飮ませてくれとおっしゃるのですか 」． これは， ユダヤ 人は サマリヤ 人と 交際していなかったからである．
- イエス は 答えて 言われた， 「もしあなたが 神の 賜物のことを 知り， また， 『水を 飮ませてくれ 』と 言った 者が， だれであるか 知っていたならば， あなたの 方から 願い 出て， その 人から 生ける 水をもらったことであろう 」．

- and Jacob's well was there. So Jesus, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
- There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."
- For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
- Therefore the Samaritan woman said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
- Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."

- 女は イエス に 言った， 「主よ， あなたは， くむ 物をお 持ちにならず， その 上， 井戶は 深いのです． その 生ける 水を， どこから 手に 入れるのですか．
- あなたは， この 井戶を 下さったわたしたちの 父 ヤコブ よりも， 偉いかたなのですか． ヤコブ 自身も 飮み， その 子らも， その 家畜も， この 井戶から 飮んだのですが 」．
- イエス は 女に 答えて 言われた， 「この 水を 飮む 者はだれでも， またかわくであろう．
- しかし， わたしが 與える 水を 飮む 者は， いつまでも， かわくことがないばかりか， わたしが 與える 水は， その 人のうちで 泉となり， 永遠の 命に 至る 水が， わきあがるであろう 」．
- 女は イエス に 言った， 「主よ， わたしがかわくことがなく， また， ここにくみにこなくてもよいように， その 水をわたしに 下さい 」．

- She said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?
- "You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?"
- Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
- but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
- The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw."

- イエス は 女に 言われた， 「あなたの 夫を 呼びに 行って， ここに 連れてきなさい 」．
- 女は 答えて 言った， 「わたしには 夫はありません 」． イエス は 女に 言われた， 「夫がないと 言ったのは， もっともだ．
- あなたには 五人の 夫があったが， 今のはあなたの 夫ではない． あなたの 言葉のとおりである 」．
- 女は イエス に 言った， 「主よ， わたしはあなたを 預言者と 見ます．
- わたしたちの 先祖は， この 山で 禮拜をしたのですが， あなたがたは 禮拜すべき 場所は， エルサレム にあると 言っています 」．

- He said to her, "Go, call your husband and come here."
- The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have correctly said, 'I have no husband';
- for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly."
- The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
- "Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."

- イエス は 女に 言われた， 「女よ， わたしの 言うことを 信じなさい． あなたがたが， この 山でも， また エルサレム でもない 所で， 父を 禮拜する 時が 來る．
- あなたがたは 自分の 知らないものを 拜んでいるが， わたしたちは 知っているかたを 禮拜している． 救は ユダヤ 人から 來るからである．
- しかし， まことの 禮拜をする 者たちが， 靈とまこととをもって 父を 禮拜する 時が 來る． そうだ， 今きている． 父は， このような 禮拜をする 者たちを 求めておられるからである．
- 神は 靈であるから， 禮拜をする 者も， 靈とまこととをもって 禮拜すべきである 」．
- 女は イエス に 言った， 「わたしは， キリスト と 呼ばれる メシヤ がこられることを 知っています． そのかたがこられたならば， わたしたちに， いっさいのことを 知らせて 下さるでしょう 」．

- Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
- "You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
- "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
- "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
- The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us."
