- そのころ， ある 安息日に， イエス は 麥畑の 中を 通られた． すると 弟子たちは， 空腹であったので， 穗を 摘んで 食べはじめた．
- パリサイ 人たちがこれを 見て， イエス に 言った， 「ごらんなさい， あなたの 弟子たちが， 安息日にしてはならないことをしています 」．
- そこで イエス は 彼らに 言われた， 「あなたがたは， ダビデ とその 供の 者たちとが 飢えたとき， ダビデ が 何をしたか 讀んだことがないのか．
- すなわち， 神の 家にはいって， 祭司たちのほか， 自分も 供の 者たちも 食べてはならぬ 供えの パン を 食べたのである．
- また， 安息日に 宮仕えをしている 祭司たちは 安息日を 破っても 罪にはならないことを， 律法で 讀んだことがないのか．

- At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
- But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
- But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
- How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
- Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

- あなたがたに 言っておく． 宮よりも 大いなる 者がここにいる．
- 『わたしが 好むのは， あわれみであって， いけにえではない 』とはどういう 意味か 知っていたなら， あなたがたは 罪のない 者をとがめなかったであろう．
- 人の 子は 安息日の 主である 」．
- イエス はそこを 去って， 彼らの 會堂にはいられた．
- すると， そのとき， 片手のなえた 人がいた． 人¿は イエス を 訴えようと 思って， 「安息日に 人をいやしても， さしつかえないか 」と 尋ねた．

- But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
- But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
- For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
- And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
- And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

- イエス は 彼らに 言われた， 「あなたがたのうちに， 一匹の 羊を 持っている 人があるとして， もしそれが 安息日に 穴に 落ちこんだなら， 手をかけて 引き 上げてやらないだろうか．
- 人は 羊よりも， はるかにすぐれているではないか． だから， 安息日に 良いことをするのは， 正しいことである 」．
- そして イエス はその 人に， 「手を 伸ばしなさい 」と 言われた． そこで 手を 伸ばすと， ほかの 手のように 良くなった．
- パリサイ 人たちは 出て 行って， なんとかして イエス を 殺そうと 相談した．
- イエス はこれを 知って， そこを 去って 行かれた． ところが 多くの 人¿がついてきたので， 彼らを 皆いやし，

- And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
- How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
- Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
- Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
- But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

- そして 自分のことを 人¿にあらわさないようにと， 彼らを 戒められた．
- これは 預言者 イザヤ の 言った 言葉が， 成就するためである，
- 「見よ， わたしが 選んだ 僕， わたしの 心にかなう， 愛する 者． わたしは 彼にわたしの 靈を 授け， そして 彼は 正義を 異邦人に 宣べ 傳えるであろう．
- 彼は 爭わず， 叫ばず， またその 聲を 大路で 聞く 者はない．
- 彼が 正義に 勝ちを 得させる 時まで， いためられた 葦を 折ることがなく， 煙っている 燈心を 消すこともない．

- And charged them that they should not make him known:
- That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
- Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
- He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
- A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

- 異邦人は 彼の 名に 望みを 置くであろう 」．
|
- And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
