	욥기 34:1-36:33 엘리후는 의롭다고 주장하는 욥을 악인에 비유하면서, 욥이 하나님을 거역하는 말을 많이 한다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님의 공의와 공평하심을 들어 욥을 비난하면서, 고난 가운데서 하나님께 불평하지 말라고 권고하였다.

	엘리후의 변론(34:1-36:33)

エリフはまた答えて言った，

「あなたがた知惠ある人¿よ，わたしの言葉を聞け，／あなたがた知識ある人¿よ，わたしに耳を傾けよ．

口が食物を味わうように，／耳は言葉をわきまえるからだ．

われわれは正しい事を選び，／われわれの間に良い事の／何であるかを明らかにしよう．

ヨブは言った，『わたしは正しい，／神はわたしの公義を奪われた．

Furthermore Elihu answered and said,

Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.

Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.

For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

わたしは正しいにもかかわらず，僞る者とされた．わたしにはとががないけれども，／わたしの矢傷はいえない』と．

だれかヨブのような人があろう．彼はあざけりを水のように飮み，

惡をなす者どもと交わり，惡人と共に步む．

彼は言った，『人は神と親しんでも，／なんの益もない』と．

それであなたがた理解ある人¿よ，わたしに聞け，／神は斷じて惡を行うことなく，／全能者は斷じて不義を行うことはない．

Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.

What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?

Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.

For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

神は人のわざにしたがってその身に報い，／おのおのの道にしたがって，／その身に振りかからせられる．

まことに神は惡しき事を行われない．全能者はさばきをまげられない．

だれかこの地を彼にゆだねた者があるか．だれか全世界を彼に負わせた者があるか．

神がもしその靈をご自分に取りもどし，／その息をご自分に取りあつめられるならば，

すべての肉は共に滅び，／人はちりに歸るであろう．

For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?

If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.

もし，あなたに悟りがあるならば，これを聞け，／わたしの言うところに耳を傾けよ．

公義を憎む者は世を治めることができようか．正しく力ある者を，あなたは非難するであろうか．

王たる者に向かって『よこしまな者』と言い，／つかさたる者に向かって，『惡しき者』と／言うことができるであろうか．

神は君たる者をもかたより見られることなく，／富める者を貧しき者にまさって／顧みられることはない．彼らは皆み手のわざだからである．

彼らはまたたく間に死に，／民は夜の間に振われて，消えうせ，／力ある者も人手によらずに除かれる．

If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?

Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?

How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.

In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

神の目が人の道の上にあって，／そのすべての步みを見られるからだ．

惡を行う者には身を隱すべき暗やみもなく，／暗黑もない．

人がさばきのために神の前に出るとき，／神は人のために時を定めておかれない．

彼は力ある者をも調べることなく打ち滅ぼし，／他の人¿を立てて，これに替えられる．

このように，神は彼らのわざを知り，／夜の間に彼らをくつがえされるので，／彼らはやがて滅びる．

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.

There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.

Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

彼は人¿の見る所で，／彼らをその惡のために擊たれる．

これは彼らがそむいて彼に從わず，／その道を全く顧みないからだ．

こうして彼らは貧しき者の叫びを／彼のもとにいたらせ，／惱める者の叫びを彼に聞かせる．

彼が默っておられるとき，／だれが非難することができようか．彼が顔を隱されるとき，／だれが彼を見ることができようか．一國の上にも，一人の上にも同樣だ．

これは神を信じない者が世を治めることがなく，／民をわなにかける事のないようにするためである．

He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:

So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.

When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

だれが神に向かって言ったか，／『わたしは罪を犯さないのに，懲らしめられた．

わたしの見ないものをわたしに敎えられたい．もしわたしが惡い事をしたなら，／重ねてこれをしない』と．

あなたが拒むゆえに，／彼はあなたの好むように報いをされるであろうか．あなたみずから選ぶがよい，わたしはしない．あなたの知るところを言いなさい．

悟りある人¿はわたしに言うだろう，／わたしに聞くところの知惠ある人は言うだろう，

『ヨブの言うところは知識がなく，／その言葉は悟りがない』と．

Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:

That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.

Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.

Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.

Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.

どうかヨブが終りまで試みられるように，／彼は惡人のように答えるからである．

彼は自分の罪に，とがを加え，／われわれの中にあって手をうち，／神に逆らって，その言葉をしげくする」．

My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.

For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.

エリフはまた答えて言った，

「あなたはこれを正しいと思うのか，／あなたは『神の前に自分は正しい』と言うのか．

あなたは言う，『これはわたしになんの益があるか，／罪を犯したのとくらべて／なんのまさるところがあるか』と．

わたしはあなたおよび，／あなたと共にいるあなたの友人たちに答えよう．

天を仰ぎ見よ，／あなたの上なる高き空を望み見よ．

Elihu spake moreover, and said,

Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?

For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

あなたが罪を犯しても，／彼になんのさしさわりがあるか．あなたのとがが多くても，彼に何をなし得ようか．

またあなたは正しくても，彼に何を與え得ようか．彼はあなたの手から何を受けられるであろうか．

あなたの惡はただあなたのような人にかかわり，／あなたの義はただ人の子にかかわるのみだ．

しえたげの多いために叫び，／力ある者の腕のゆえに呼ばわる人¿がある．

しかし，ひとりとして言う者はない，／『わが造り主なる神はどこにおられるか，／彼は夜の間に歌を與え，

If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

地の ¿よりも多く，われわれを敎え，／空の鳥よりも，われわれを賢くされる方である』と．

彼らが叫んでも答えられないのは，／惡しき者の高ぶりによる．

まことに神はむなしい叫びを聞かれない．また全能者はこれを顧みられない．

あなたが彼を見ないと言う時はなおさらだ．さばきは神の前にある．あなたは彼を待つべきである．

今彼が怒りをもって罰せず，／罪とがを深く心にとめられないゆえに

Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

ヨブは口を開いてむなしい事を述べ，／無知の言葉をしげくする」．

Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.

エリフは重ねて言った，

「しばらく待て，わたしはあなたに示すことがある．なお神のために言うべき事がある．

わたしは遠くからわが知識を取り，／わが造り主に正義を歸する．

まことにわたしの言葉は僞らない．知識の全き者があなたと共にいる．

見よ，神は力ある者であるが，／何をも卑しめられない，／その悟りの力は大きい．

Elihu also proceeded, and said,

Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

彼は惡しき者を生かしておかれない，／苦しむ者のためにさばきを行われる．

彼は正しい者から目を離さず，／位にある王たちと共に，とこしえに，／彼らをすわらせて，尊くされる．

もし彼らが足かせにつながれ，／惱みのなわに捕えられる時は，

彼らの行いと，とがと，／その高ぶったふるまいを彼らに示し，

彼らの耳を開いて，敎を聞かせ，／惡を離れて歸ることを命じられる．

He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

もし彼らが聞いて彼に仕えるならば，／彼らはその日を幸福に過ごし，その年を樂しく送るであろう．

しかし彼らが聞かないならば，つるぎによって滅び，／知識を得ないで死ぬであろう．

心に神を信じない者どもは怒りをたくわえ，／神に縛られる時も，助けを呼び求めることをしない．

彼らは年若くして死に，／その命は恥のうちに終る．

神は苦しむ者をその苦しみによって救い，／彼らの耳を逆境によって開かれる．

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

神はまたあなたを惱みから，／束縛のない廣い所に誘い出された．そしてあなたの食卓に置かれた物は／すべて肥えた物であった．

しかしあなたは惡人のうくべき／さばきをおのれに滿たし，／さばきと公義はあなたを捕えている．

あなたは怒りに誘われて，／あざけりに陷らぬように心せよ．あがないしろの大いなるがために，おのれを誤るな．

あなたの叫びはあなたを守って，／惱みを免れさせるであろうか，／いかに力をつくしても役に立たない．

人¿がその所から斷たれる／その夜を慕ってはならない．

Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

愼んで惡に傾いてはならない．あなたは惱みよりもむしろこれを選んだからだ．

見よ，神はその力をもってあがめられる．だれか彼のように敎える者があるか．

だれか彼のためにその道を定めた者があるか．だれか『あなたは惡い事をした』と／言いうる者があるか．

神のみわざをほめたたえる事を忘れてはならない．これは人¿の歌いあがめるところである．

すべての人はこれを仰ぎ見る．人は遠くからこれを見るにすぎない．

Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

見よ，神は大いなる者にいまして，／われわれは彼を知らない．その年の數も計り知ることができない．

彼は水のしたたりを引きあげ，／その霧をしたたらせて雨とされる．

空はこれを降らせて，人の上に豊かに注ぐ．

だれか雲の廣がるわけと，／その幕屋のとどろくわけとを／悟ることができようか．

見よ，彼はその光をおのれのまわりにひろげ，／また海の底をおおわれる．

Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

彼はこれらをもって民をさばき，／食物を豊かに賜い，

いなずまをもってもろ手を包み，／これに命じて敵を打たせられる．

そのとどろきは，／惡にむかって怒りに燃える彼を現す．

For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
