- 次の 日， 一行は カイサリア に 到着した． コルネリウス は 親類や 親しい 友人を 呼び 集めて 待っていた．
- ペトロ が 來ると， コルネリウス は 迎えに 出て， 足もとにひれ 伏して 拜んだ．
- ペトロ は 彼を 起こして 言った． 「お 立ちください． わたしもただの 人間です． 」
- そして， 話しながら 家に 入ってみると， 大勢の 人が 集まっていたので，
- 彼らに 言った． 「あなたがたもご 存じのとおり， ユダヤ 人が 外國人と 交際したり， 外國人を 訪問したりすることは， 律法で 禁じられています． けれども， 神はわたしに， どんな 人をも 淸くない 者とか， 汚れている 者とか 言ってはならないと， お 示しになりました．

- And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
- And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
- But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
- And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
- And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

- それで， お 招きを 受けたとき， すぐ 來たのです． お 尋ねしますが， なぜ 招いてくださったのですか． 」
- すると， コルネリウス が 言った． 「四日前の 今ごろのことです． わたしが 家で 午後三時の 祈りをしていますと， 輝く 服を 着た 人がわたしの 前に 立って，
- 言うのです． 『コルネリウス ， あなたの 祈りは 聞き 入れられ， あなたの 施しは 神の 前で 覺えられた．
- ヤッファ に 人を 送って， ペトロ と 呼ばれる シモン を 招きなさい． その 人は， 海岸にある 革なめし 職人 シモン の 家に 泊まっている． 』
- それで， 早速あなたのところに 人を 送ったのです． よくおいでくださいました． 今わたしたちは 皆， 主があなたにお 命じになったことを 殘らず 聞こうとして， 神の 前にいるのです． 」

- Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
- And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
- And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
- Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
- Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

- そこで， ペトロ は 口を 開きこう 言った． 「神は 人を 分け 隔てなさらないことが， よく 分かりました．
- どんな 國の 人でも， 神を 畏れて 正しいことを 行う 人は， 神に 受け 入れられるのです．
- 神が イエス · キリスト によって ――この 方こそ， すべての 人の 主です ――平和を 告げ 知らせて， イスラエル の 子らに 送ってくださった 御言葉を，
- あなたがたはご 存じでしょう． ヨハネ が 洗禮を 宣べ 傳えた 後に， ガリラヤ から 始まって ユダヤ 全土に 起きた 出來事です．
- つまり， ナザレ の イエス のことです． 神は， 聖靈と 力によってこの 方を 油注がれた 者となさいました． イエス は， 方¿を 巡り 步いて 人¿を 助け， 惡魔に 苦しめられている 人たちをすべていやされたのですが， それは， 神が 御一緖だったからです．

- Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
- But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
- The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
- That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
- How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

- わたしたちは， イエス が ユダヤ 人の 住む 地方， 特に エルサレム でなさったことすべての 證人です． 人¿は イエス を 木にかけて 殺してしまいましたが，
- 神はこの イエス を 三日目に 復活させ， 人¿の 前に 現してくださいました．
- しかし， それは 民全體に 對してではなく， 前もって 神に 選ばれた 證人， つまり， イエス が 死者の 中から 復活した 後， 御一緖に 食事をしたわたしたちに 對してです．
- そして イエス は， 御自分が 生きている 者と 死んだ 者との 審判者として 神から 定められた 者であることを， 民に 宣べ 傳え， 力强く 證しするようにと， わたしたちにお 命じになりました．
- また 預言者も 皆， イエス について， この 方を 信じる 者はだれでもその 名によって 罪の 赦しが 受けられる， と 證ししています． 」

- And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
- Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
- Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
- And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
- To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

- ペトロ がこれらのことをなおも 話し 續けていると， 御言葉を 聞いている 一同の 上に 聖靈が 降った．
- 割禮を 受けている 信者で， ペトロ と 一緖に 來た 人は 皆， 聖靈の 賜物が 異邦人の 上にも 注がれるのを 見て， 大いに 驚いた．
- 異邦人が 異言を 話し， また 神を 贊美しているのを， 聞いたからである． そこで ペトロ は，
- 「わたしたちと 同樣に 聖靈を 受けたこの 人たちが， 水で 洗禮を 受けるのを， いったいだれが 妨げることができますか 」と 言った．
- そして， イエス · キリスト の 名によって 洗禮を 受けるようにと， その 人たちに 命じた． それから， コルネリウス たちは， ペトロ になお 數日滯在するようにと 願った．

- While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
- And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
- Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
- And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
