- 人は 皆， 上に 立つ 權威に 從うべきです． 神に 由來しない 權威はなく， 今ある 權威はすべて 神によって 立てられたものだからです．
- 從って， 權威に 逆らう 者は， 神の 定めに 背くことになり， 背く 者は 自分の 身に 裁きを 招くでしょう．
- 實際， 支配者は， 善を 行う 者にはそうではないが， 惡を 行う 者には 恐ろしい 存在です． あなたは 權威者を 恐れないことを 願っている． それなら， 善を 行いなさい． そうすれば， 權威者からほめられるでしょう．
- 權威者は， あなたに 善を 行わせるために， 神に 仕える 者なのです． しかし， もし 惡を 行えば， 恐れなければなりません． 權威者はいたずらに 劍を 帶びているのではなく， 神に 仕える 者として， 惡を 行う 者に 怒りをもって 報いるのです．
- だから， 怒りを 逃れるためだけでなく， 良心のためにも， これに 從うべきです．

- Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
- Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
- For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
- For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
- Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

- あなたがたが 貢を 納めているのもそのためです． 權威者は 神に 仕える 者であり， そのことに 勵んでいるのです．
- すべての 人¿に 對して 自分の 義務を 果たしなさい． 貢を 納めるべき 人には 貢を 納め， 稅を 納めるべき 人には 稅を 納め， 恐るべき 人は 恐れ， 敬うべき 人は 敬いなさい．
- 互いに 愛し 合うことのほかは， だれに 對しても 借りがあってはなりません． 人を 愛する 者は， 律法を 全うしているのです．
- 「姦淫するな， 殺すな， 盜むな， むさぼるな 」， そのほかどんな ¿があっても， 「隣人を 自分のように 愛しなさい 」という 言葉に 要約されます．
- 愛は 隣人に 惡を 行いません． だから， 愛は 律法を 全うするものです．

- For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
- Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
- Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
- For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

- 更に， あなたがたは 今がどんな 時であるかを 知っています． あなたがたが 眠りから 覺めるべき 時が 旣に 來ています． 今や， わたしたちが 信仰に 入ったころよりも， 救いは 近づいているからです．
- 夜は 更け， 日は 近づいた． だから， 闇の 行いを 脫ぎ 捨てて 光の 武具を 身に 着けましょう．
- 日中を 步むように， 品位をもって 步もうではありませんか． 酒宴と 杏按， 淫亂と 好色， 爭いとねたみを 捨て，
- 主 イエス · キリスト を 身にまといなさい． 欲望を 滿足させようとして， 肉に 心を 用いてはなりません．

- And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
- The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
- Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
- But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
