- 子らよ， 父の 諭しを 聞け ／分別をわきまえるために， 耳を 傾けよ．
- わたしは 幸いを 說いているのだ． わたしの 敎えを 捨ててはならない．
- わたしも 父にとっては 息子であり ／母のもとでは， いとけない 獨り 子であった．
- 父はわたしに 敎えて 言った． 「わたしの 言葉をお 前の 心に 保ち ／わたしの 戒めを 守って， 命を 得よ．
- わたしの 口が 言いきかせることを ／忘れるな， 離れ 去るな． 知惠を 獲得せよ， 分別を 獲得せよ．

- Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
- For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
- For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
- He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
- Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
