- わが 子よ， わたしの 知惠に 耳を 傾け ／わたしの 英知に 耳を 向けよ．
- そうすれば， あなたは 唇に 愼みを 守り ／知識を 保つことができる．
- よその 女の 唇は 蜜を 滴らせ ／その 口は 油よりも 滑らかだ．
- だがやがて， 苦よもぎよりも 苦くなり ／兩刃の 劍のように 銳くなる．
- 彼女の 足は 死へ 下って 行き ／一步一步と， 陰府に 達する．

- My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
- That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
- For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
- But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
- Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

- 人生の 道のりを 計ろうともせず ／自分の 道から 外れても， 知ることもない．
- それゆえ， 子らよ， わたしに 聞き 從え． わたしの 口の 言葉からそれてはならない．
- あなたの 道を 彼女から 遠ざけよ． その 門口に 近寄るな．
- あなたの 榮えを 他人に ／長壽を 殘酷なものに 渡してはならない．
- よその 者があなたの 力に 飽き 足りることを 許すな． 異邦人の 家を ／あなたが 勞した 實りで 滿たしてはならない．

- Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.
- Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
- Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
- Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
- Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;

- さもなければ 後になって ／肉も 筋も 消耗し， あなたは 呻き
- 言わなければならない． 「どうして， わたしの 心は 諭しを 憎み ／懲らしめをないがしろにしたのだろうか．
- 敎えてくれる 人の 聲に 聞き 從わず ／導いてくれる 人の 聲に 耳を 向けなかった．
- 會衆の 中でも， 共同體の 中でも ／わたしは 最惡の 者になりそうだ． 」

- And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
- And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
- And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
- I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
