- しかし， あなたは， 健全な 敎えに 適うことを 語りなさい．
- 年老いた 男には， 節制し， 品位を 保ち， 分別があり， 信仰と 愛と 忍耐の 点で 健全であるように 勸めなさい．
- 同じように， 年老いた 女には， 聖なる 務めを 果たす 者にふさわしくふるまい， 中傷せず， 大酒のとりこにならず， 善いことを 敎える 者となるように 勸めなさい．
- そうすれば， 彼女たちは 若い 女を 諭して， 夫を 愛し， 子供を 愛し，
- 分別があり， 貞潔で， 家事にいそしみ， 善良で， 夫に 從うようにさせることができます． これは， 神の 言葉が 汚されないためです．

- But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
- That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
- The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
- That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
- To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

- -7 同じように， 万事につけ 若い 男には， 思慮深くふるまうように 勸めなさい． あなた 自身， 良い 行いの 模範となりなさい． 敎えるときには， 淸廉で 品位を 保ち，

- 非難の 余地のない 健全な 言葉を 語りなさい． そうすれば， 敵對者は， わたしたちについて 何の 惡口も 言うことができず， 恥じ 入るでしょう．
- 奴隷には， あらゆる 点で 自分の 主人に 服從して， 喜ばれるようにし， 反抗したり，
- 盜んだりせず， 常に 忠實で 善良であることを 示すように 勸めなさい． そうすれば， わたしたちの 救い 主である 神の 敎えを， あらゆる 点で 輝かすことになります．

- Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
- In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
- Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
- Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
- Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

- 實に， すべての 人¿に 救いをもたらす 神の 惠みが 現れました．
- その 惠みは， わたしたちが 不信心と 現世的な 欲望を 捨てて， この 世で， 思慮深く， 正しく， 信心深く 生活するように 敎え，
- また， 祝福に 滿ちた 希望， すなわち 偉大なる 神であり， わたしたちの 救い 主である イエス · キリスト の 榮光の 現れを 待ち 望むように 敎えています．
- キリスト がわたしたちのために 御自身を 獻げられたのは， わたしたちをあらゆる 不法から ·い 出し， 良い 行いに 熱心な 民を 御自分のものとして 淸めるためだったのです．
- 十分な 權威をもってこれらのことを 語り， 勸め， 戒めなさい． だれにも 侮られてはなりません．

- For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
- Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
- Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
- Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
- These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
