요나

  본서는 요나의 니느웨 구원 사건을 통하여 이방인에게 미치는 하나님의 구원의 손길을 명확하게 보여 주고 있으며, 사흘 간 물고기의 뱃속에 갇힌 요나 사건을 통해서 예수님의 부활 사건을 예표하고 있다.

  요나는 니느웨 선교 소명을 받았으나 불순종하여 하나님을 피해 달아난다. 그러나 하나님의 섭리로 물고기에게 삼키우게 된다. 이에 요나는 회개하고 소명을 감당한다. 니느웨는 요나의 외침을 듣고 회개하여 심판을 면하게 된다. 그러자 이를 본 요나는 하나님께 불평하지만, 하나님께서는 그에게 박 넝쿨의 교훈을 통해 하나님은 만민의 하나님이심을 깨우쳐 주신다.

 

 

요나 1:1-4:11

 요나는 하나님의 말씀을 전하도록 니느웨로 보내심을 받았으나 순종치 않고 배를 타고 도망하였다. 그러나 하나님께서 풍랑을 보내셔서 파선하게 되자, 그는 자신의 죄를 고백하고 바다에 던져졌다. 큰 물고기에게 삼켜져 그 뱃속에서 3일 간 회개하고 구원받은 요나는 니느웨(TM)에서 회개를 외쳤다. 그러나 그들이 회개하고 구원받자 하나님께 화를 내며 불평하였다. 이에 하나님께서는 박 넝쿨을 통해 그를 교훈하셨다.
  
  요나 선지자(1:1-4:11)    
 
  1. 主の 言葉が アミタイ の 子 ヨナ に 臨んだ．
  2. 「さあ， 大いなる 都 ニネベ に 行ってこれに 呼びかけよ． 彼らの 惡はわたしの 前に 屆いている． 」
  3. しかし ヨナ は 主から 逃れようとして 出發し， タルシシュ に 向かった． ヤッファ に 下ると， 折よく タルシシュ 行きの 船が 見つかったので， 船賃を 拂って 乘り ¿み， 人¿に 紛れ ¿んで 主から 逃れようと， タルシシュ に 向かった．
  4. 主は 大風を 海に 向かって 放たれたので， 海は 大荒れとなり， 船は 今にも ¿けんばかりとなった．
  5. 船乘りたちは 恐怖に 陷り， それぞれ 自分の 神に 助けを 求めて 叫びをあげ， 積み 荷を 海に 投げ 捨て， 船を 少しでも 輕くしようとした． しかし， ヨナ は 船底に 降りて 橫になり， ぐっすりと 寢¿んでいた．
  1. The word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai saying,
  2. "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me."
  3. But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD So he went down to Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
  4. The LORD hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to break up.
  5. Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried to his god, and they threw the cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship, lain down and fallen sound asleep.
  1. 船長は ヨナ のところに 來て 言った． 「寢ているとは 何事か． さあ， 起きてあなたの 神を 呼べ． 神が 氣づいて 助けてくれるかもしれない． 」
  2. さて， 人¿は 互いに 言った． 「さあ， くじを 引こう． 誰のせいで， 我¿にこの 災難がふりかかったのか， はっきりさせよう． 」そこで， くじを 引くと ヨナ に 當たった．
  3. 人¿は 彼に 詰め 寄って， 「さあ， 話してくれ． この 災難が 我¿にふりかかったのは， 誰のせいか． あなたは 何の 仕事で 行くのか． どこから 來たのか． 國はどこで， どの 民族の 出身なのか 」と 言った．
  4. ヨナ は 彼らに 言った． 「わたしは ヘブライ 人だ． 海と 陸とを 創造された 天の 神， 主を 畏れる 者だ． 」
  5. 人¿は 非常に 恐れ， ヨナ に 言った． 「なんという 事をしたのだ． 」人¿は ヨナ が， 主の 前から 逃げて 來たことを 知った． 彼が 白狀したからである．
  1. So the captain approached him and said, "How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish."
  2. Each man said to his mate, "Come, let us cast lots so we may learn on whose account this calamity has struck us " So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.
  3. Then they said to him, "Tell us, now! On whose account has this calamity struck us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?"
  4. He said to them, "I am a Hebrew, and I fear the LORD God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land."
  5. Then the men became extremely frightened and they said to him, "How could you do this?" For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.
  1. 彼らは ヨナ に 言った． 「あなたをどうしたら， 海が 靜まるのだろうか． 」海は 荒れる 一方だった．
  2. ヨナ は 彼らに 言った． 「わたしの 手足を 捕らえて 海にほうり ¿むがよい． そうすれば， 海は 穩やかになる． わたしのせいで， この 大嵐があなたたちを 見舞ったことは， わたしが 知っている． 」
  3. 乘組員は 船を 漕いで 陸に 戾そうとしたが， できなかった． 海がますます 荒れて， 襲いかかってきたからである．
  4. ついに， 彼らは 主に 向かって 叫んだ． 「ああ， 主よ， この 男の 命のゆえに， 滅ぼさないでください． 無實の 者を 殺したといって 責めないでください． 主よ， すべてはあなたの 御心のままなのですから． 」
  5. 彼らが ヨナ の 手足を 捕らえて 海へほうり ¿むと， 荒れ 狂っていた 海は 靜まった．
  1. So they said to him, "What should we do to you that the sea may become calm for us?"--for the sea was becoming increasingly stormy.
  2. He said to them, "Pick me up and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will become calm for you, for I know that on account of me this great storm has come upon you."
  3. However, the men rowed desperately to return to land but they could not, for the sea was becoming even stormier against them.
  4. Then they called on the LORD and said, "We earnestly pray, O LORD, do not let us perish on account of this man's life and do not put innocent blood on us; for You, O LORD, have done as You have pleased."
  5. So they picked up Jonah, threw him into the sea, and the sea stopped its raging.
  1. 人¿は 大いに 主を 畏れ， いけにえをささげ， 誓いを 立てた．
  1. Then the men feared the LORD greatly, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows.
  2. And the LORD appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights.
 
 
  1. さて， 主は 巨大な 魚に 命じて， ヨナ を 呑み ¿ませられた． ヨナ は 三日三晩魚の 腹の 中にいた．
  2. ヨナ は 魚の 腹の 中から 自分の 神， 主に 祈りをささげて，
  3. 言った． 苦難の 中で， わたしが 叫ぶと ／主は 答えてくださった． 陰府の 底から， 助けを 求めると ／わたしの 聲を 聞いてくださった．
  4. あなたは， わたしを 深い 海に 投げ ¿まれた． 潮の 流れがわたしを 卷き ¿み ／波また 波がわたしの 上を 越えて 行く．
  5. わたしは 思った ／あなたの 御前から 追放されたのだと． 生きて 再び 聖なる 神殿を 見ることがあろうかと．
  1. Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the stomach of the fish,
  2. and he said, "I called out of my distress to the LORD, And He answered me I cried for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.
  3. "For You had cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current engulfed me All Your breakers and billows passed over me.
  4. "So I said, 'I have been expelled from Your sight Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.'
  5. "Water encompassed me to the point of death The great deep engulfed me, Weeds were wrapped around my head.
  1. 大水がわたしを 襲って 喉に 達する． 深淵に 呑み ¿まれ， 水草が 頭に 絡みつく．
  2. わたしは 山¿の 基まで， 地の 底まで 沈み ／地はわたしの 上に 永久に 扉を 閉ざす． しかし， わが 神， 主よ ／あなたは 命を ／滅びの 穴から 引き 上げてくださった．
  3. 息絶えようとするとき ／わたしは 主の 御名を 唱えた． わたしの 祈りがあなたに 屆き ／聖なる 神殿に 達した．
  4. 僞りの 神¿に 從う 者たちが ／忠節を 捨て 去ろうとも
  5. わたしは 感謝の 聲をあげ ／いけにえをささげて， 誓ったことを 果たそう． 救いは， 主にこそある．
  1. "I descended to the roots of the mountains The earth with its bars was around me forever, But You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God.
  2. "While I was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, And my prayer came to You, Into Your holy temple.
  3. "Those who regard vain idols Forsake their faithfulness,
  4. But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving That which I have vowed I will pay Salvation is from the LORD."
  5. Then the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.
  1. 主が 命じられると， 魚は ヨナ を 陸地に 吐き 出した．
 
 
  1. 主の 言葉が 再び ヨナ に 臨んだ．
  2. 「さあ， 大いなる 都 ニネベ に 行って， わたしがお 前に 語る 言葉を 告げよ． 」
  3. ヨナ は 主の 命令どおり， 直ちに ニネベ に 行った． ニネベ は 非常に 大きな 都で， 一回りするのに 三日かかった．
  4. ヨナ はまず 都に 入り， 一日分の 距離を 步きながら 叫び， そして 言った． 「あと 四十日すれば， ニネベ の 都は 滅びる． 」
  5. すると， ニネベ の 人¿は 神を 信じ， 斷食を 呼びかけ， 身分の 高い 者も 低い 者も 身に 粗布をまとった．
  1. Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying,
  2. "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you."
  3. So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three days' walk.
  4. Then Jonah began to go through the city one day's walk; and he cried out and said, "Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown."
  5. Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.
  1. このことが ニネベ の 王に 傳えられると， 王は 王座から 立ち 上がって 王衣を 脫ぎ 捨て， 粗布をまとって 灰の 上に 座し，
  2. 王と 大臣たちの 名によって 布告を 出し， ニネベ に 斷食を 命じた． 「人も 家畜も， 牛， 羊に 至るまで， 何一つ 食物を 口にしてはならない． 食べることも， 水を 飮むことも 禁ずる．
  3. 人も 家畜も 粗布をまとい， ひたすら 神に 祈願せよ． おのおの 惡の 道を 離れ， その 手から 不法を 捨てよ．
  4. そうすれば 神が 思い 直されて 激しい 怒りを 靜め， 我¿は 滅びを 免れるかもしれない． 」
  5. 神は 彼らの 業， 彼らが 惡の 道を 離れたことを 御覽になり， 思い 直され， 宣告した 災いをくだすのをやめられた．
  1. When the word reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne, laid aside his robe from him, covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes.
  2. He issued a proclamation and it said, "In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let man, beast, herd, or flock taste a thing. Do not let them eat or drink water.
  3. "But both man and beast must be covered with sackcloth; and let men call on God earnestly that each may turn from his wicked way and from the violence which is in his hands.
  4. "Who knows, God may turn and relent and withdraw His burning anger so that we will not perish."
  5. When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it.
 
 
  1. ヨナ にとって， このことは 大いに 不滿であり， 彼は 怒った．
  2. 彼は， 主に 訴えた． 「ああ， 主よ， わたしがまだ 國にいましたとき， 言ったとおりではありませんか． だから， わたしは 先に タルシシュ に 向かって 逃げたのです． わたしには， こうなることが 分かっていました． あなたは， 惠みと 憐れみの 神であり， 忍耐深く， 慈しみに 富み， 災いをくだそうとしても 思い 直される 方です．
  3. 主よどうか 今， わたしの 命を 取ってください． 生きているよりも 死ぬ 方がましです． 」
  4. 主は 言われた． 「お 前は 怒るが， それは 正しいことか． 」
  5. そこで， ヨナ は 都を 出て 東の 方に 座り ¿んだ． そして， そこに 小屋を 建て， 日射しを 避けてその 中に 座り， 都に 何が 起こるかを 見屆けようとした．
  1. But it greatly displeased Jonah and he became angry.
  2. He prayed to the LORD and said, "Please LORD, was not this what I said while I was still in my own country? Therefore in order to forestall this I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, and one who relents concerning calamity.
  3. "Therefore now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for death is better to me than life."
  4. The LORD said, "Do you have good reason to be angry?"
  5. Then Jonah went out from the city and sat east of it. There he made a shelter for himself and sat under it in the shade until he could see what would happen in the city.
  1. すると， 主なる 神は 彼の 苦痛を 救うため， とうごまの 木に 命じて 芽を 出させられた． とうごまの 木は 伸びて ヨナ よりも 丈が 高くなり， 頭の 上に 陰をつくったので， ヨナ の 不滿は 消え， このとうごまの 木を 大いに 喜んだ．
  2. ところが 翌日の 明け 方， 神は 蟲に 命じて 木に 登らせ， とうごまの 木を 食い 荒らさせられたので 木は 枯れてしまった．
  3. 日が 昇ると， 神は 今度は 燒けつくような 東風に 吹きつけるよう 命じられた． 太陽も ヨナ の 頭上に 照りつけたので， ヨナ はぐったりとなり， 死ぬことを 願って 言った． 「生きているよりも， 死ぬ 方がましです． 」
  4. 神は ヨナ に 言われた． 「お 前はとうごまの 木のことで 怒るが， それは 正しいことか． 」彼は 言った． 「もちろんです． 怒りのあまり 死にたいくらいです． 」
  5. すると， 主はこう 言われた． 「お 前は， 自分で 勞することも 育てることもなく， 一夜にして 生じ， 一夜にして 滅びたこのとうごまの 木さえ 惜しんでいる．
  1. So the LORD God appointed a plant and it grew up over Jonah to be a shade over his head to deliver him from his discomfort. And Jonah was extremely happy about the plant.
  2. But God appointed a worm when dawn came the next day and it attacked the plant and it withered.
  3. When the sun came up God appointed a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah's head so that he became faint and begged with all his soul to die, saying, "Death is better to me than life."
  4. Then God said to Jonah, "Do you have good reason to be angry about the plant?" And he said, "I have good reason to be angry, even to death."
  5. Then the LORD said, "You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight.
  1. それならば， どうしてわたしが， この 大いなる 都 ニネベ を 惜しまずにいられるだろうか． そこには， 十二万人以上の 右も 左もわきまえぬ 人間と， 無數の 家畜がいるのだから． 」
  1. "Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?"
