	예레미야 7:1-8:22 유다의 죄는 성전 예배에서도 지적되었다. 즉 유다 백성들은 성전에서 제사를 드리면서 우상을 숭배하였고, 영적 지도자들은 율법을 잘못 해석하고 기록하여 백성들을 잘못 인도하였다. 하나님께서는 이 죄를 회개하지 않으면 형벌을 내리겠다고 선언하셨지만, 유다는 끝내 회개하지 않아 바벨론의 침략이라는 하나님의 징계를 받게 되었다.

	유다의 책망(7:1-8:3)

主からエレミヤに臨んだ言葉．

主の神殿の門に立ち，この言葉をもって呼びかけよ．そして，言え．「主を禮拜するために，神殿の門を入って行くユダの人¿よ，皆，主の言葉を聞け．

イスラエルの神，万軍の主はこう言われる．お前たちの道と行いを正せ．そうすれば，わたしはお前たちをこの所に住まわせる．

主の神殿，主の神殿，主の神殿という，むなしい言葉に依り賴んではならない．

-6 この所で，お前たちの道と行いを正し，お互いの間に正義を行い，寄留の外國人，孤兒，寡婦を虐げず，無實の人の血を流さず，異敎の神¿に從うことなく，自ら災いを招いてはならない．

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.

For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;

そうすれば，わたしはお前たちを先祖に與えたこの地，この所に，とこしえからとこしえまで住まわせる．

しかし見よ，お前たちはこのむなしい言葉に依り賴んでいるが，それは救う力を持たない．

盜み，殺し，姦淫し，僞って誓い，バアルに香をたき，知ることのなかった異敎の神¿に從いながら，

わたしの名によって呼ばれるこの神殿に來てわたしの前に立ち，『救われた』と言うのか．お前たちはあらゆる忌むべきことをしているではないか．

If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:

Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

わたしの名によって呼ばれるこの神殿は，お前たちの目に强盜の巢窟と見えるのか．そのとおり．わたしにもそう見える，と主は言われる．

シロのわたしの聖所に行ってみよ．かつてわたしはそこにわたしの名を置いたが，わが民イスラエルの惡のゆえに，わたしがそれをどのようにしたかを見るがよい．

今や，お前たちがこれらのことをしたから ――と主は言われる ――そしてわたしが先に繰り返し語ったのに，その言葉に從わず，呼びかけたのに答えなかったから，

わたしの名によって呼ばれ，お前たちが依り賴んでいるこの神殿に，そしてお前たちと先祖に與えたこの所に對して，わたしはシロにしたようにする．

わたしは，お前たちの兄弟である，エフライムの子孫をすべて投げ捨てたように，お前たちをわたしの前から投げ捨てる．」

Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;

Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

あなたはこの民のために祈ってはならない．彼らのために嘆きと祈りの聲をあげてわたしを煩わすな．わたしはあなたに耳を傾けない．

ユダの町¿，エルサレムの巷で彼らがどのようなことをしているか，あなたには見えないのか．

子らは薪を集め，父は火を燃やし，女たちは粉を練り，天の女王のために獻げ物の菓子を作り，異敎の神¿に獻げ物のぶどう酒を注いで，わたしを怒らせている．

彼らはわたしを怒らせているのか ――と主は言われる ――むしろ，自らの恥によって自らを怒らせているのではないか．

それゆえ，主なる神はこう言われる．見よ，わたしの怒りと／憤りが，この所で，人間，家畜，野の木，地の實りに注がれる．それは燃え上がり，消えることはない．

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

イスラエルの神，万軍の主はこう言われる．お前たちの燒き盡くす獻げ物の肉を，いけにえの肉に加えて食べるがよい．

わたしはお前たちの先祖をエジプトの地から導き出したとき，わたしは燒き盡くす獻げ物やいけにえについて，語ったことも命じたこともない．

むしろ，わたしは次のことを彼らに命じた．「わたしの聲に聞き從え．そうすれば，わたしはあなたたちの神となり，あなたたちはわたしの民となる．わたしが命じる道にのみ步むならば，あなたたちは幸いを得る．」

しかし，彼らは聞き從わず，耳を傾けず，彼らのかたくなで惡い心のたくらみに從って步み，わたしに背を向け，顔を向けなかった．

お前たちの先祖がエジプトの地から出たその日から，今日に至るまで，わたしの僕である預言者らを，常に繰り返しお前たちに遣わした．

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:

それでも，わたしに聞き從わず，耳を傾けず，かえって，うなじを固くし，先祖よりも惡い者となった．

あなたが彼らにこれらすべての言葉を語っても，彼らはあなたに聞き從わず，呼びかけても答えないであろう．

それゆえあなたは彼らに言うがよい．「これは，その神，主の聲に聞き從わず，懲らしめを受け入れず，その口から眞實が失われ，斷たれている民だ．」

「お前の長い髮を切り，それを捨てよ．裸の山¿で哀歌をうたえ．主を怒らせたこの世代を／主は退け，見捨てられた．」

まことに，ユダの人¿はわたしの目の前で惡を行った，と主は言われる．わたしの名によって呼ばれるこの神殿に，彼らは憎むべき物を置いてこれを汚した．

Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.

Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

彼らはベン · ヒノムの谷にトフェトの聖なる高台を築いて息子，娘を火で燒いた．このようなことをわたしは命じたこともなく，心に思い浮かべたこともない．

それゆえ，見よ，もはやトフェトとかベン · ヒノムの谷とか呼ばれることなく，殺戮の谷と呼ばれる日が來る，と主は言われる．そのとき，人¿はもはや余地を殘さぬまで，トフェトに人を葬る．

この民の死體は空の鳥，野の ¿の餌食となる．それを追い拂う者もない．

わたしはユダの町¿とエルサレムの巷から，喜びの聲と祝いの聲，花¿の聲と花嫁の聲を絶つ．この地は廢虛となる．

And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.

And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.

Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

そのとき，と主は言われる．ユダのもろもろの王の骨，高官の骨，祭司の骨，預言者の骨，そしてエルサレムの住民の骨が，墓から掘り出される．

それは，彼らが愛し，仕え，その後に從い，尋ね求め，伏し拜んだ太陽や月，天の万象の前にさらされ，集められることも葬られることもなく，地の面にまき散らされて肥やしとなる．

わたしが他のさまざまな場所に追いやった，この惡を行う民族の殘りの者すべてにとって，死は生よりも望ましいものになる，と万軍の主は言われる．

At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:

And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.

	회개하지 않는 유다(8:4-8:22)

彼らに言いなさい．主はこう言われる．倒れて，起き上がらない者があろうか．離れて，立ち歸らない者があろうか．

どうして，この民エルサレムは背く者となり／いつまでも背いているのか．僞りに固執して／立ち歸ることを拒む．

耳を傾けて聞いてみたが／正直に語ろうとしない．自分の惡を悔いる者もなく／わたしは何ということをしたのかと／言う者もない．馬が戰場に突進するように／それぞれ自分の道を去って行く．

空を飛ぶこうのとりもその季節を知っている．山鳩もつばめも鶴も，渡るときを守る．しかし，わが民は主の定めを知ろうとしない．

どうしてお前たちは言えようか．「我¿は賢者といわれる者で／主の律法を持っている」と．まことに見よ，書記が僞る筆をもって書き／それを僞りとした．

Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return?

Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

賢者は恥を受け，打ちのめされ，捕らえられる．見よ，主の言葉を侮っていながら／どんな知惠を持っているというのか．

それゆえ，わたしは彼らの妻を他人に渡し／彼らの畑を征服する者に渡す．身分の低い者から高い者に至るまで／皆，利をむさぼり／預言者から祭司に至るまで皆，欺く．

彼らは，おとめなるわが民の破滅を／手輕に治療して／平和がないのに「平和，平和」と言う．

彼らは忌むべきことをして恥をさらした．しかも，恥ずかしいとは思わず／嘲られていることに氣づかない．それゆえ，人¿が倒れるとき，彼らも倒れ／彼らが罰せられるとき，彼らはつまずくと／主は言われる．

わたしは彼らを集めようとしたがと／主は言われる．ぶどうの木にぶどうはなく／いちじくの木にいちじくはない．葉はしおれ，わたしが與えたものは／彼らから失われていた．

The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.

何のために我¿は座っているのか．集まって，城塞に逃れ，默ってそこにいよう．我¿の神，主が我¿を默らせ／毒の水を飮ませられる．我¿が主に罪を犯したからだ．

平和を望んでも，幸いはなく／いやしのときを望んでも，見よ，恐怖のみ．

ダンから敵の軍馬のいななきが聞こえる．强い馬の銳いいななきで，大地はすべて ¿れ動く．彼らは來て，地とそこに滿ちるもの／都とそこに住むものを食い盡くす．

わたしはお前たちの中に蛇や ·を送る．彼らにはどのような呪文も役に立たない．彼らはお前たちをかむ，と主は言われる．

わたしの嘆きはつのり／わたしの心は弱り果てる．

Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.

We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!

The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.

For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.

When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

見よ，遠い地から娘なるわが民の／叫ぶ聲がする．「主はシオンにおられないのか／シオンの王はそこにおられないのか．」なぜ，彼らは偶像によって／異敎の空しいものによって／わたしを怒らせるのか．

刈り入れの時は過ぎ，夏は終わった．しかし，我¿は救われなかった．

娘なるわが民の破滅のゆえに／わたしは打ち ¿かれ，嘆き，恐怖に襲われる．

ギレアドに乳香がないというのか／そこには醫者がいないのか．なぜ，娘なるわが民の傷はいえないのか．

Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.

Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?
