예레미야 17:1-18:23

 하나님께서는 물가의 푸른 나무와 어리석은 자고새의 비유를 통해, 하나님을 떠나 멸망받게 된 유다 백성들의 구원자가 오직 하나님뿐임을 깨우쳐 주셨다. 예레미야는 하나님을 의뢰하는 실천적 교훈으로 안식일 성수를 촉구하였다. 또한 토기장이의 비유를 통해 하나님의 절대 주권을 증거하고 돌이킬 수 없는 심판을 예고하면서 회개를 촉구하였다. 그러나 완악한 백성들이 자신을 치려 하자, 그는 하나님께 그들에 대한 징계를 호소했다.
  
  유다의 죄와 심판(17:1-18:17)    
 
  1. ユダ の 罪は ／心の 板に， 祭壇の 角に ／鐵の ペン で 書きつけられ ／ ダイヤモンド のたがねで 刻み ¿まれて
  2. 子孫に 銘記させるものとなる． それらは 彼らの 祭壇であり， アシェラ 像である． それらは， どの 綠の 木の 下にも ／高い 丘， 野の 山の 上にもある．
  3. 野から 山に 登る 者よ． わたしはお 前の 富と 寶を ／お 前の 聖なる 高台での 罪のゆえに ／至るところで， 敵が 奪うにまかせる．
  4. わたしが 繼がせた 嗣業をお 前は 失う． また， お 前を 敵の 奴隷とし ／お 前の 知らない 國に 行かせる． わたしの 怒りによって 火が 点じられ ／とこしえに 燃え 續ける．
  5. 主はこう 言われる． 呪われよ， 人間に 信賴し， 肉なる 者を 賴みとし ／その 心が 主を 離れ 去っている 人は．
  1. The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;
  2. Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
  3. O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.
  4. And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.
  5. Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
  1. 彼は 荒れ 地の 裸の 木． 惠みの 雨を 見ることなく ／人の 住めない 不毛の 地 ／炎暑の 荒れ 野を 住まいとする．
  2. 祝福されよ， 主に 信賴する 人は． 主がその 人のよりどころとなられる．
  3. 彼は 水のほとりに 植えられた 木． 水路のほとりに 根を 張り ／暑さが 襲うのを 見ることなく ／その 葉は 靑¿としている． 干ばつの 年にも 憂いがなく ／實を 結ぶことをやめない．
  4. 人の 心は 何にもまして， とらえ 難く 病んでいる． 誰がそれを 知りえようか．
  5. 心を 探り， そのはらわたを 究めるのは ／主なるわたしである． それぞれの 道， 業の 結ぶ 實に 從って 報いる．
  1. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
  2. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
  3. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
  4. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
  5. I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
  1. しゃこが 自分の 産まなかった 卵を 集めるように ／不正に 富をなす 者がいる． 人生の 半ばで， 富は 彼を 見捨て ／ついには， 神を 失った 者となる．
  2. 榮光の 御座， いにしえよりの 天 ／我らの 聖所，
  3. イスラエル の 希望である 主よ． あなたを 捨てる 者は 皆， 辱めを 受ける． あなたを 離れ 去る 者は ／地下に 行く 者として 記される． 生ける 水の 源である 主を 捨てたからだ．
  4. 主よ， あなたがいやしてくださるなら ／わたしはいやされます． あなたが 救ってくださるなら ／わたしは 救われます． あなたをこそ， わたしはたたえます．
  5. 御覽ください． 彼らはわたしに 言います． 「主の 言葉はどこへ 行ってしまったのか． それを 實現させるがよい 」と．
  1. As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
  2. A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
  3. O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
  4. Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
  5. Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
  1. わたしは， 災いが 速やかに 來るよう ／あなたに 求めたことはありません． 痛手の 日を 望んだこともありません． あなたはよくご 存じです． わたしの 唇から 出たことは ／あなたの 御前にあります．
  2. わたしを 滅ぼす 者とならないでください． 災いの 日に， あなたこそわが 避け 所です．
  3. わたしを 迫害する 者が 辱めを 受け ／わたしは 辱めを 受けないようにしてください． 彼らを 恐れさせ ／わたしを 恐れさせないでください． 災いの 日を 彼らに 臨ませ ／彼らをどこまでも 打ち ¿いてください．
  4. 主はわたしにこう 言われた． 「行って， ユダ の 王たちが 出入りする 民の 子らの 門や， エルサレム のすべての 門に 立ち，
  5. 彼らに 言うがよい． これらの 門を 入る ユダ の 王たち， ユダ のすべての 者， エルサレム のすべての 住民よ， 主の 言葉を 聞け．
  1. As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
  2. Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.
  3. Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
  4. Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
  5. And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
  1. 主はこう 言われる． あなたたちは， 愼んで， 安息日に 荷を 運ばないようにしなさい． エルサレム のどの 門からも 持ち ¿んではならない．
  2. また 安息日に， 荷をあなたたちの 家から 持ち 出してはならない． どのような 仕事もしてはならない． 安息日を 聖別しなさい．
  3. それをわたしはあなたたちの 先祖に 命じたが， 彼らは 聞き 從わず， 耳を 貸そうともしなかった． 彼らはうなじを 固くして， 聞き 從わず， 諭しを 受け 入れようとしなかった．
  4. 主は 言われる． もし， あなたたちがわたしに 聞き 從い， 安息日にこの 都の 門から 荷を 持ち ¿まず， 安息日を 聖別し， その 日には 何の 仕事もしないならば，
  5. ダビデ の 王座に 座る 王たち， 高官たち， すなわち 車や 馬に 乘る 王や 高官， ユダ の 人¿， エルサレム の 住民が， 常にこの 都の 門から 入り， この 都には， とこしえに 人が 住むであろう．
  1. Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
  2. Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
  3. But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
  4. And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
  5. Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
  1. ユダ の 町¿， エルサレム の 周圍， ベニヤミン の 地， シェフェラ ， 山地， ネゲブ などから， 人¿は 燒き 盡くす 獻げ 物， いけにえ， 穀物の 獻げ 物， 乳香をもたらし， 主の 神殿への 感謝の 獻げ 物とする．
  2. もし， あなたたちがわたしに 聞き 從わず， 安息日を 聖別せず， 安息日に 荷を 運んで， エルサレム の 門を 入るならば， わたしは エルサレム の 門に 火を 放つ． その 火は エルサレム の 城郭を 燒き 盡くし， 消えることはないであろう． 」
  1. And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
  2. But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
 
 
  1. 主から エレミヤ に 臨んだ 言葉．
  2. 「立って， 陶工の 家に 下って 行け． そこでわたしの 言葉をあなたに 聞かせよう． 」
  3. わたしは 陶工の 家に 下って 行った． 彼はろくろを 使って 仕事をしていた．
  4. 陶工は 粘土で 一つの 器を 作っても， 氣に 入らなければ 自分の 手で 壞し， それを 作り 直すのであった．
  5. そのとき 主の 言葉がわたしに 臨んだ．
  1. The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
  2. Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
  3. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
  4. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
  5. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  1. 「イスラエル の 家よ， この 陶工がしたように， わたしもお 前たちに 對してなしえないと 言うのか， と 主は 言われる． 見よ， 粘土が 陶工の 手の 中にあるように， イスラエル の 家よ， お 前たちはわたしの 手の 中にある．
  2. あるとき， わたしは 一つの 民や 王國を 斷罪して， 拔き， 壞し， 滅ぼすが，
  3. もし， 斷罪したその 民が， 惡を 悔いるならば， わたしはその 民に 災いをくだそうとしたことを 思いとどまる．
  4. またあるときは， 一つの 民や 王國を 建て， また 植えると 約束するが，
  5. わたしの 目に 惡とされることを 行い， わたしの 聲に 聞き 從わないなら， 彼らに 幸いを 與えようとしたことを 思い 直す． 」
  1. O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
  2. At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
  3. If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
  4. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
  5. If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
  1. 今， ユダ の 人¿と エルサレム の 住民に 言うがよい． 「主はこう 言われる． 見よ， わたしはお 前たちに 災いを 備え， 災いを 計畵している． お 前たちは 皆， 惡の 道から 立ち 歸り， お 前たちの 道と 行いを 正せ． 」
  2. 彼らは 言った． 「それは 無馱です． 我¿は 我¿の 思いどおりにし， おのおのかたくなな 惡い 心のままにふるまいたいのだから． 」
  3. それゆえ， 主はこう 言われる． 「國¿に 尋ねて 見よ． 誰がこのようなことを 聞いたであろうか． おとめ イスラエル はおぞましいことをした．
  4. シャダイ の 岩壁から ／ レバノン の 雪が 消え 去るだろうか． 遠くから 流れる 冷たい 水が ¿れることがあろうか．
  5. しかし， わたしの 民はわたしを 忘れ ／むなしいものに 香をたいた． 彼らは 自分たちの 道， 昔からの 道につまずき ／整えられていない， 不確かな 道を 步んだ．
  1. Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
  2. And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
  3. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.
  4. Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?
  5. Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;
  1. わたしは 彼らの 地を 恐怖の 的とし ／いつまでも 嘲られるものとする． 通りかかる 者は 皆， おののき， 頭を 振る．
  2. 東風のように， わたしは 彼らを 敵の 前に 散らす． 災いの 日に ／わたしは 彼らに 背を 向け， 顔を 向けない． 」
  1. To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head.
  2. I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
 
  음모와 기도(18:18-18:23)    
 
  1. 彼らは 言う． 「我¿は エレミヤ に 對して 計略をめぐらそう． 祭司から 律法が， 賢者から 助言が， 預言者から 御言葉が 失われることはない． 舌をもって 彼を 打とう． 彼の 告げる 言葉には 全く 耳を 傾けまい． 」
  2. 主よ， わたしに 耳を 傾け ／わたしと 爭う 者の 聲を 聞いてください．
  3. 惡をもって 善に 報いてもよいでしょうか． 彼らはわたしの 命を 奪おうとして ／落とし 穴を 掘りました． 御前にわたしが 立ち， 彼らをかばい ／あなたの 怒りをなだめようとしたことを ／御心に 留めてください．
  4. 彼らの 子らを 飢鴨に 遭わせ ／彼らを 劍に 渡してください． 妻は 子を 失い， やもめとなり ／夫は 殺戮され ／若者は 戰いで 劍に 打たれますように．
  5. 突然， 彼らに 一團の 略奪者を ／襲いかからせてください ／彼らの 家から 叫ぶ 聲が 聞こえるように． 彼らはわたしを 捕らえようと 落とし 穴を 掘り ／足もとに ┼を 仕掛けました．
  1. Then said they, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
  2. Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.
  3. Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them.
  4. Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle.
  5. Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
  1. 主よ， あなたはご 存じです ／わたしを 殺そうとする 彼らの 策略を． どうか 彼らの 惡を 赦さず ／罪を 御前から 消し 去らないでください． 彼らが 御前に 倒されるよう ／御怒りのときに 彼らをあしらってください．
  1. Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
