- イスラエル をいやそうとしても ／かえって， エフライム の 不義 ／ サマリア の 惡が 現れる． 實に， 彼らは 僞りをたくらむ． 盜人は 家に 忍び ¿み ／外では 追いはぎの 群れが 人を 襲う．
- わたしは 彼らの 惡事をすべて 心に 留めている． しかし， 彼らは 少しも 意に 介さない． 今や， 彼らは 惡に 取り 圍まれ ／その 有樣はわたしの 目の 前にある．
- 彼らは 惡事によって 王を ／欺きによって 高官たちを 喜ばせる．
- 彼らは 皆， 姦淫を 行う 者 ／燃えるかまどのようだ． パン を 燒く 者は 小麥粉をこねると ／膨むまで， 火をかき 立てずにじっと 待つ．
- 我¿の 王の 祝いの 日に ／高官たちはぶどう 酒の 熱で 無力になり ／王は 陰謀を ¿く 者たちと 手を 結び

- When I would heal Israel, The iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, And the evil deeds of Samaria, For they deal falsely; The thief enters in, Bandits raid outside,
- And they do not consider in their hearts That I remember all their wickedness Now their deeds are all around them; They are before My face.
- With their wickedness they make the king glad, And the princes with their lies.
- They are all adulterers, Like an oven heated by the baker Who ceases to stir up the fire From the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.
- On the day of our king, the princes became sick with the heat of wine; He stretched out his hand with scoffers,

- 燃えるかまどのようなたくらみに 心を 近づける． 夜の 間眠っていた 彼らの 怒りは ／朝になると 燃え 盛る 火のように 炎を 噴く．
- 彼らは 皆， かまどのように 熱くなり ／自分たちを 支配する 者を 燒き 盡くした． 王たちはことごとく 倒れ ／ひとりとして， わたしを 呼ぶ 者はなかった．
- エフライム は 諸國民の 中に 交ぜ 合わされ ／ エフライム は 裏返さずに 燒かれた 菓子となった．
- 他國の 人¿が 彼の 力を 食い 盡くしても ／彼はそれに 氣づかない． 白髮が 多くなっても ／彼はそれに 氣づかない．
- イスラエル を 罪に 落とすのは 自らの 高慢である． 彼らは 神なる 主に 歸らず ／これらすべてのことがあっても ／主を 尋ね 求めようとしない．

- For their hearts are like an oven As they approach their plotting; Their anger smolders all night, In the morning it burns like a flaming fire.
- All of them are hot like an oven, And they consume their rulers; All their kings have fallen None of them calls on Me.
- Ephraim mixes himself with the nations; Ephraim has become a cake not turned.
- Strangers devour his strength, Yet he does not know it; Gray hairs also are sprinkled on him, Yet he does not know it.
- Though the pride of Israel testifies against him, Yet they have not returned to the LORD their God, Nor have they sought Him, for all this.

- エフライム は 鳩のようだ． 愚かで， 悟りがない． エジプト に 助けを 求め ／あるいは， アッシリア に 賴って 行く．
- 彼らが 出て 行こうとするとき ／わたしはその 上に 網を 張り ／網にかかった 音を 聞くと ／空の 鳥のように， 引き 落として 捕らえる．
- なんと 災いなことか． 彼らはわたしから 離れ 去った． わたしに 背いたから， 彼らは 滅びる． どんなに 彼らを 救おうとしても ／彼らはわたしに 僞って 語る．
- 彼らは 心からわたしの 助けを 求めようとはしない． 寢床の 上で 泣き 叫び ／穀物と 新しい 酒を 求めて 身を 傷つけるが ／わたしには 背を 向けている．
- わたしは， 彼らを 敎えてその 腕を 强くしたが ／彼らはわたしに 對して 惡事をたくらんだ．

- So Ephraim has become like a silly dove, without sense; They call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
- When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the sky I will chastise them in accordance with the proclamation to their assembly.
- Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction is theirs, for they have rebelled against Me! I would redeem them, but they speak lies against Me.
- And they do not cry to Me from their heart When they wail on their beds; For the sake of grain and new wine they assemble themselves, They turn away from Me.
- Although I trained and strengthened their arms, Yet they devise evil against Me.

- 彼らは 戾ってきたが ／ねじれた 弓のようにむなしいものに 向かった． 高官たちは 自分で 吐いた 呪いのために ／劍にかかって 倒れ ／ エジプト の 地で， 物笑いの 種となる．

- They turn, but not upward, They are like a deceitful bow; Their princes will fall by the sword Because of the insolence of their tongue This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
