사사기 17:1-18:31

 미가는 어머니의 은으로 우상을 만들고, 거할 곳을 찾던 레위인을 고용하여 제사장으로 삼았다. 기업을 구하던 단 지파는 정탐꾼을 보내 라이스를 정탐하게 했다. 단 자손들은 미가의 집에서 우상과 레위 소년을 강탈한 뒤, 라이스를 점령하고 그 곳에 거주하면서 우상을 섬겼다.
  
  미가의 우상(17:1-17:13)    
 
  1. エフライム の 山地の 出で， その 名を ミカ という 人がいた．
  2. 彼は 母に 言った． 「あなたが， 銀千百枚を 盜まれたとき， のろって 言われたことが， 私の 耳にはいりました． 實は， 私がその 銀を 持っています． 私がそれを 盜んだのです． 」すると， 母は 言った． 「主が 私の 息子を 祝福されますように． 」
  3. 彼が 母にその 銀千百枚を 返したとき， 母は 言った． 「私の 手でその 銀を 聖別して 主にささげ， わが 子のために， それで 彫像と 鑄像を 造りましょう． 今は， それをあなたに 返します． 」
  4. しかし 彼は 母にその 銀を 返した． そこで 母は 銀二百枚を 取って， それを 銀細工人に 與えた． すると， 彼はそれで 彫像と 鑄像を 造った． それが ミカ の 家にあった．

  1. Now a man named Micah from the hill country of Ephraim
  2. said to his mother, "The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you and about which I heard you utter a curse--I have that silver with me; I took it." Then his mother said, "The LORD bless you, my son!"
  3. When he returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, she said, "I solemnly consecrate my silver to the LORD for my son to make a carved image and a cast idol. I will give it back to you."
  4. So he returned the silver to his mother, and she took two hundred shekels of silver and gave them to a silversmith, who made them into the image and the idol. And they were put in Micah's house.
  5. Now this man Micah had a shrine, and he made an ephod and some idols and installed one of his sons as his priest.

  1. In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.
  2. A young Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, who had been living within the clan of Judah,
  3. left that town in search of some other place to stay. On his way he came to Micah's house in the hill country of Ephraim.
  4. Micah asked him, "Where are you from?" "I'm a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah," he said, "and I'm looking for a place to stay."
  5. Then Micah said to him, "Live with me and be my father and priest, and I'll give you ten shekels of silver a year, your clothes and your food."
  1. この レビ 人は 心を 決めてその 人といっしょに 住むことにした． この 若者は 彼の 息子のひとりのようになった．
  2. ミカ がこの レビ 人を 任命したので， この 若者は 彼の 祭司となり， ミカ の 家にいた．

  1. So the Levite agreed to live with him, and the young man was to him like one of his sons.
  2. Then Micah installed the Levite, and the young man became his priest and lived in his house.
  3. And Micah said, "Now I know that the LORD will be good to me, since this Levite has become my priest."

  1. そのころ， イスラエル には 王がなかった． そのころ， ダン 人の 部族は， 自分たちの 住む 相續地を 求めていた． イスラエル の 諸部族の 中にあって， 相續地はその 時まで 彼らに 割り 當てられていなかったからである．
  2. そこで， ダン 族は， 彼らの 諸氏族全體のうちから 五人の 者， ツォルア と エシュタオル からの 勇士たちを 派遣して， 土地を 偵察し， 調べることにした． それで， 彼らに 言った． 「行って， あの 地を 調べなさい． 」彼らは エフライム の 山地の ミカ の 家に 行って， そこで 一夜を 明かした．

  1. In those days Israel had no king. And in those days the tribe of the Danites was seeking a place of their own where they might settle, because they had not yet come into an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.
  2. So the Danites sent five warriors from Zorah and Eshtaol to spy out the land and explore it. These men represented all their clans. They told them, "Go, explore the land." The men entered the hill country of Ephraim and came to the house of Micah, where they spent the night.
  3. When they were near Micah's house, they recognized the voice of the young Levite; so they turned in there and asked him, "Who brought you here? What are you doing in this place? Why are you here?"
  4. He told them what Micah had done for him, and said, "He has hired me and I am his priest."
  5. Then they said to him, "Please inquire of God to learn whether our journey will be successful."
  1. その 祭司は 彼らに 言った． 「安心して 行きなさい． あなたがたのしている 旅は， 主が 認めておられます． 」
  2. 五人の 者は 進んで 行って， ライシュ に 着き， そこの 住民を 見ると， 彼らは 安らかに 住んでおり， シドン 人のならわしに 從って， 平穩で 安心しきっていた． この 地には 足りないものは 何もなく， 押えつける 者もなかった． 彼らは シドン 人から 遠く 離れており， そのうえ， だれとも 交涉がなかった．

  4. そこで， 彼らは 言った． 「さあ， 彼らのところへ 攻め 上ろう． 私たちはその 土地を 見たが， 實に， すばらしい． あなたがたはためらっている． ぐずぐずせずに 進んで 行って， あの 地を 占領しよう．
  5. あなたがたが 行くときは， 安心しきっている 民のところに 行けるのだ． しかもその 地は 廣¿としている． 神はそれをあなたがたの 手に 渡しておられる． その 場所には， 地にあるもので 足りないものは 何もない． 」
  1. The priest answered them, "Go in peace. Your journey has the LORD's approval."
  2. So the five men left and came to Laish, where they saw that the people were living in safety, like the Sidonians, unsuspecting and secure. And since their land lacked nothing, they were prosperous. Also, they lived a long way from the Sidonians and had no relationship with anyone else.
  3. When they returned to Zorah and Eshtaol, their brothers asked them, "How did you find things?"
  4. They answered, "Come on, let's attack them! We have seen that the land is very good. Aren't you going to do something? Don't hesitate to go there and take it over.
  5. When you get there, you will find an unsuspecting people and a spacious land that God has put into your hands, a land that lacks nothing whatever."
  1. そこで， ダン 人の 氏族の 者六百人は 武具を 身に 着けて， そこ， ツォルア と エシュタオル から 旅立ち，

  1. Then six hundred men from the clan of the Danites, armed for battle, set out from Zorah and Eshtaol.
  2. On their way they set up camp near Kiriath Jearim in Judah. This is why the place west of Kiriath Jearim is called Mahaneh Dan to this day.
  3. From there they went on to the hill country of Ephraim and came to Micah's house.
  4. Then the five men who had spied out the land of Laish said to their brothers, "Do you know that one of these houses has an ephod, other household gods, a carved image and a cast idol? Now you know what to do."
  5. So they turned in there and went to the house of the young Levite at Micah's place and greeted him.
  1. 武具を 身に 着けた 六百人の ダン の 人¿は， 門の 入口のところに 立っていた．
  2. あの 地を 偵察に 行った 五人の 者は 上って 行き， そこにはいり， 彫像と エポデ と テラフィム と 鑄像を 取った． 祭司は 武具を 身に 着けた 六百人の 者と， 門の 入口のところに 立っていた．

  1. The six hundred Danites, armed for battle, stood at the entrance to the gate.
  2. The five men who had spied out the land went inside and took the carved image, the ephod, the other household gods and the cast idol while the priest and the six hundred armed men stood at the entrance to the gate.
  3. When these men went into Micah's house and took the carved image, the ephod, the other household gods and the cast idol, the priest said to them, "What are you doing?"
  4. They answered him, "Be quiet! Don't say a word. Come with us, and be our father and priest. Isn't it better that you serve a tribe and clan in Israel as priest rather than just one man's household?"
  5. Then the priest was glad. He took the ephod, the other household gods and the carved image and went along with the people.
  1. そこで， 彼らは 子どもや 家畜や 貴重品を 先にして 引き 返して 行った．
  2. 彼らが ミカ の 家からかなり 離れると， ミカ は 家の 近くの 家にいた 人¿を 集め， ダン 族に 追いついた．

  5. そこで， ダン 族は ミカ に 言った． 「あなたの 聲が 私たちの 中で 聞こえないようにせよ． でなければ， 氣の 荒い 連中があなたがたに 擊ちかかろう． あなたは， 自分のいのちも， 家族のいのちも 失おう． 」
  1. Putting their little children, their livestock and their possessions in front of them, they turned away and left.
  2. When they had gone some distance from Micah's house, the men who lived near Micah were called together and overtook the Danites.
  3. As they shouted after them, the Danites turned and said to Micah, "What's the matter with you that you called out your men to fight?"
  4. He replied, "You took the gods I made, and my priest, and went away. What else do I have? How can you ask, 'What's the matter with you?' "
  5. The Danites answered, "Don't argue with us, or some hot-tempered men will attack you, and you and your family will lose your lives."
  1. こうして， ダン 族は 去って 行った． ミカ は， 彼らが 自分よりも 强いのを 見てとり， 向きを 變えて， 自分の 家に 歸った．

  1. So the Danites went their way, and Micah, seeing that they were too strong for him, turned around and went back home.
  2. Then they took what Micah had made, and his priest, and went on to Laish, against a peaceful and unsuspecting people. They attacked them with the sword and burned down their city.
  3. There was no one to rescue them because they lived a long way from Sidon and had no relationship with anyone else. The city was in a valley near Beth Rehob. The Danites rebuilt the city and settled there.
  4. They named it Dan after their forefather Dan, who was born to Israel--though the city used to be called Laish.
  5. There the Danites set up for themselves the idols, and Jonathan son of Gershom, the son of Moses, and his sons were priests for the tribe of Dan until the time of the captivity of the land.
  1. こうして， 神の 宮が シロ にあった 間中， 彼らは ミカ の 造った 彫像を 自分たちのために 立てた．
  1. They continued to use the idols Micah had made, all the time the house of God was in Shiloh.
