- それから イエス は， エリコ にはいって， 町をお 通りになった．
- ここには， ザアカイ という 人がいたが， 彼は 取稅人のかしらで， 金持ちであった．
- 彼は， イエス がどんな 方か 見ようとしたが， 背が 低かったので， 群衆のために 見ることができなかった．
- それで， イエス を 見るために， 前方に 走り 出て， いちじく 桑の 木に 登った． ちょうど イエス がそこを 通り 過ぎようとしておられたからである．
- イエス は， ちょうどそこに 來られて， 上を 見上げて 彼に 言われた． 「ザアカイ ． 急いで 降りて 來なさい． きょうは， あなたの 家に 泊まることにしてあるから． 」

- And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
- And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
- And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
- And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
- And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

- ザアカイ は， 急いで 降りて 來て， そして 大喜びで イエス を 迎えた．
- これを 見て， みなは， 「あの 方は 罪人のところに 行って 客となられた． 」と 言ってつぶやいた．
- ところが ザアカイ は 立って， 主に 言った． 「主よ． ご 覽ください． 私の 財産の 半分を 貧しい 人たちに 施します． また， だれからでも， 私がだまし 取った 物は， 四倍にして 返します． 」
- イエス は， 彼に 言われた． 「きょう， 救いがこの 家に 來ました． この 人も アブラハム の 子なのですから．
- 人の 子は， 失われた 人を 搜して 救うために 來たのです． 」

- And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
- And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
- And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
- And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
- For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

- 人¿がこれらのことに 耳を 傾けているとき， イエス は， 續けて 一つのたとえを 話された． それは， イエス が エルサレム に 近づいておられ， そのため 人¿は 神の 國がすぐにでも 現われるように 思っていたからである．
- それで， イエス はこう 言われた． 「ある 身分の 高い 人が， 遠い 國に 行った． 王位を 受けて 歸るためであった．
- 彼は 自分の 十人のしもべを 呼んで， 十 ミナ を 與え， 彼らに 言った． 『私が 歸るまで， これで 商賣しなさい． 』
- しかし， その 國民たちは， 彼を 憎んでいたので， あとから 使いをやり， 『この 人に， 私たちの 王にはなってもらいたくありません． 』と 言った．
- さて， 彼が 王位を 受けて 歸って 來たとき， 金を 與えておいたしもべたちがどんな 商賣をしたかを 知ろうと 思い， 彼らを 呼び 出すように 言いつけた．

- And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.
- He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
- And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
- But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.
- And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

- さて， 最初の 者が 現われて 言った． 『ご 主人さま． あなたの 一 ミナ で， 十 ミナ をもうけました． 』
- 主人は 彼に 言った． 『よくやった． 良いしもべだ． あなたはほんの 小さな 事にも 忠實だったから， 十の 町を 支配する 者になりなさい． 』
- 二番目の 者が 來て 言った． 『ご 主人さま． あなたの 一 ミナ で， 五 ミナ をもうけました． 』
- 主人はこの 者にも 言った． 『あなたも 五つの 町を 治めなさい． 』
- もうひとりが 來て 言った． 『ご 主人さま． さあ， ここにあなたの 一 ミナ がございます． 私はふろしきに 包んでしまっておきました．

- Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
- And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.
- And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
- And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.
- And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

- あなたは 計算の 細かい， きびしい 方ですから， 恐ろしゅうございました． あなたはお 預けにならなかったものをも 取り 立て， お 蒔きにならなかったものをも 刈り 取る 方ですから． 』
- 主人はそのしもべに 言った． 『惡いしもべだ． 私はあなたのことばによって， あなたをさばこう． あなたは， 私が 預けなかったものを 取り 立て， 蒔かなかったものを 刈り 取るきびしい 人間だと 知っていた， というのか．
- だったら， なぜ 私の 金を 銀行に 預けておかなかったのか． そうすれば 私は 歸って 來たときに， それを 利息といっしょに 受け 取れたはずだ． 』
- そして， そばに 立っていた 者たちに 言った． 『その 一 ミナ を 彼から 取り 上げて， 十 ミナ 持っている 人にやりなさい． 』
- すると 彼らは， 『ご 主人さま． その 人は 十 ミナ も 持っています． 』と 言った．

- For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.
- And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
- Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
- And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
- (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

- 彼は 言った． 『あなたがたに 言うが， だれでも 持っている 者は， さらに 與えられ， 持たない 者からは， 持っている 者までも 取り 上げられるのです．
- ただ， 私が 王になるのを 望まなかったこの 敵どもは， みなここに 連れて 來て， 私の 目の 前で 殺してしまえ． 』」

- For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.
- But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
