- イエス が ヨハネ よりも 弟子を 多くつくって， バプテスマ を 授けていることが パリサイ 人の 耳にはいった． それを 主が 知られたとき，
- ·· イエス ご 自身は バプテスマ を 授けておられたのではなく， 弟子たちであったが， ··
- 主は ユダヤ を 去って， また ガリラヤ へ 行かれた．
- しかし， サマリヤ を 通って 行かなければならなかった．
- それで 主は， ヤコブ がその 子 ヨセフ に 與えた 地所に 近い スカル という サマリヤ の 町に 來られた．

- When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
- (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
- He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
- And he must needs go through Samaria.
- Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

- そこには ヤコブ の 井戶があった． イエス は 旅の 疲れで， 井戶のかたわらに 腰をおろしておられた． 時は 六時ごろであった．
- ひとりの サマリヤ の 女が 水をくみに 來た． イエス は「わたしに 水を 飮ませてください． 」と 言われた．
- 弟子たちは 食物を 買いに， 町へ 出かけていた．
- そこで， その サマリヤ の 女は 言った． 「あなたは ユダヤ 人なのに， どうして サマリヤ の 女の 私に， 飮み 水をお 求めになるのですか． 」·· ユダヤ 人は サマリヤ 人とつきあいをしなかったからである． ··
- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「もしあなたが 神の 賜物を 知り， また， あなたに 水を 飮ませてくれと 言う 者がだれであるかを 知っていたなら， あなたのほうでその 人に 求めたことでしょう． そしてその 人はあなたに 生ける 水を 與えたことでしょう． 」

- Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
- There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
- (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
- Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
- Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

- 彼女は 言った． 「先生． あなたはくむ 物を 持っておいでにならず， この 井戶は 深いのです． その 生ける 水をどこから 手にお 入れになるのですか．
- あなたは， 私たちの 先祖 ヤコブ よりも 偉いのでしょうか． ヤコブ は 私たちにこの 井戶を 與え， 彼自身も， 彼の 子たちも 家畜も， この 井戶から 飮んだのです． 」
- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「この 水を 飮む 者はだれでも， また 渴きます．
- しかし， わたしが 與える 水を 飮む 者はだれでも， 決して 渴くことがありません． わたしが 與える 水は， その 人のうちで 泉となり， 永遠のいのちへの 水がわき 出ます． 」
- 女は イエス に 言った． 「先生． 私が 渴くことがなく， もうここまでくみに 來なくてもよいように， その 水を 私に 下さい． 」

- The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
- Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
- Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
- But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
- The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

- イエス は 彼女に 言われた． 「行って， あなたの 夫をここに 呼んで 來なさい． 」
- 女は 答えて 言った． 「私には 夫はありません． 」 イエス は 言われた． 「私には 夫がないというのは， もっともです．
- あなたには 夫が 五人あったが， 今あなたといっしょにいるのは， あなたの 夫ではないからです． あなたが 言ったことはほんとうです． 」
- 女は 言った． 「先生． あなたは 預言者だと 思います．
- 私たちの 先祖は， この 山で 禮拜しましたが， あなたがたは， 禮拜すべき 場所は エルサレム だと 言われます． 」

- Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
- The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
- For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
- The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
- Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

- イエス は 彼女に 言われた． 「わたしの 言うことを 信じなさい． あなたがたが 父を 禮拜するのは， この 山でもなく， エルサレム でもない， そういう 時が 來ます．
- 救いは ユダヤ 人から 出るのですから， わたしたちは 知って 禮拜していますが， あなたがたは 知らないで 禮拜しています．
- しかし， 眞の 禮拜者たちが 靈とまことによって 父を 禮拜する 時が 來ます． 今がその 時です． 父はこのような 人¿を 禮拜者として 求めておられるからです．
- 神は 靈ですから， 神を 禮拜する 者は， 靈とまことによって 禮拜しなければなりません． 」
- 女は イエス に 言った． 「私は， キリスト と 呼ばれる メシヤ の 來られることを 知っています． その 方が 來られるときには， いっさいのことを 私たちに 知らせてくださるでしょう． 」

- Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
- Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
- But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
- God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
- The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

- イエス は 言われた． 「あなたと 話しているこのわたしがそれです． 」

- Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
