- さて サウロ は， なおも 主の 弟子たちに 對する 脅かしと 殺害の 意に 燃えて， 大祭司のところに 行き，
- ダマスコ の 諸會堂あての 手紙を 書いてくれるよう 賴んだ． それは， この 道の 者であれば 男でも 女でも， 見つけ 次第縛り 上げて エルサレム に 引いて 來るためであった．
- ところが， 道を 進んで 行って， ダマスコ の 近くまで 來たとき， 突然， 天からの 光が 彼を 巡り 照らした．
- 彼は 地に 倒れて， 「サウロ ， サウロ ． なぜわたしを 迫害するのか． 」という 聲を 聞いた．
- 彼が， 「主よ． あなたはどなたですか． 」と 言うと， お 答えがあった． 「わたしは， あなたが 迫害している イエス である．

- And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
- And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
- And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
- And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
- And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

- 立ち 上がって， 町にはいりなさい． そうすれば， あなたのしなければならないことが 告げられるはずです． 」
- 同行していた 人たちは， 聲は 聞こえても， だれも 見えないので， ものも 言えずに 立っていた．
- サウロ は 地面から 立ち 上がったが， 目は 開いていても 何も 見えなかった． そこで 人¿は 彼の 手を 引いて， ダマスコ へ 連れて 行った．
- 彼は 三日の 間， 目が 見えず， また 飮み 食いもしなかった．
- さて， ダマスコ に アナニヤ という 弟子がいた． 主が 彼に 幻の 中で， 「アナニヤ よ． 」と 言われたので， 「主よ． ここにおります． 」と 答えた．

- And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
- And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
- And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
- And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
- And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

- すると 主はこう 言われた． 「立って， 『まっすぐ 』という 街路に 行き， サウロ という タルソ 人を ユダ の 家に 尋ねなさい． そこで， 彼は 祈っています．
- 彼は， アナニヤ という 者がはいって 來て， 自分の 上に 手を 置くと， 目が 再び 見えるようになるのを， 幻で 見たのです． 」
- しかし， アナニヤ はこう 答えた． 「主よ． 私は 多くの 人¿から， この 人が エルサレム で， あなたの 聖徒たちにどんなにひどいことをしたかを 聞きました．
- 彼はここでも， あなたの 御名を 呼ぶ 者たちをみな 捕縛する 權限を， 祭司長たちから 授けられているのです． 」
- しかし， 主はこう 言われた． 「行きなさい． あの 人はわたしの 名を， 異邦人， 王たち， イスラエル の 子孫の 前に 運ぶ， わたしの 選びの 器です．

- And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
- And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
- Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
- And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
- But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

- 彼がわたしの 名のために， どんなに 苦しまなければならないかを， わたしは 彼に 示すつもりです． 」
- そこで アナニヤ は 出かけて 行って， その 家にはいり， サウロ の 上に 手を 置いてこう 言った． 「兄弟 サウロ ． あなたが 來る 途中でお 現われになった 主 イエス が， 私を 遣わされました． あなたが 再び 見えるようになり， 聖靈に 滿たされるためです． 」
- するとただちに， サウロ の 目からうろこのような 物が 落ちて， 目が 見えるようになった． 彼は 立ち 上がって， バプテスマ を 受け，
- 食事をして 元氣づいた． サウロ は 數日の 間， ダマスコ の 弟子たちとともにいた．
- そしてただちに， 諸會堂で， イエス は 神の 子であると 宣べ 傳え 始めた．

- For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
- And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
- And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
- And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
- And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

- これを 聞いた 人¿はみな， 驚いてこう 言った． 「この 人は エルサレム で， この 御名を 呼ぶ 者たちを 滅ぼした 者ではありませんか． ここへやって 來たのも， 彼らを 縛って， 祭司長たちのところへ 引いて 行くためではないのですか． 」
- しかし サウロ はますます 力を 增し， イエス が キリスト であることを 證明して， ダマスコ に 住む ユダヤ 人たちをうろたえさせた．
- 多くの 日數がたって 後， ユダヤ 人たちは サウロ を 殺す 相談をしたが，
- その 陰謀は サウロ に 知られてしまった． 彼らは サウロ を 殺してしまおうと， ¿も 夜も 町の 門を 全部見張っていた．
- そこで， 彼の 弟子たちは， 夜中に 彼をかごに 乘せ， 町の 城壁傳いにつり 降ろした．

- But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
- But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
- And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
- But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
- Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

- サウロ は エルサレム に 着いて， 弟子たちの 仲間にはいろうと 試みたが， みなは 彼を 弟子だとは 信じないで， 恐れていた．
- ところが， バルナバ は 彼を 引き 受けて， 使徒たちのところへ 連れて 行き， 彼が ダマスコ に 行く 途中で 主を 見た 樣子や， 主が 彼に 向かって 語られたこと， また 彼が ダマスコ で イエス の 御名を 大膽に 宣べた 樣子などを 彼らに 說明した．
- それから サウロ は， エルサレム で 弟子たちとともにいて 自由に 出はいりし， 主の 御名によって 大膽に 語った．
- そして， ギリシヤ 語を 使う ユダヤ 人たちと 語ったり， 論じたりしていた． しかし， 彼らは サウロ を 殺そうとねらっていた．
- 兄弟たちはそれと 知って， 彼を カイザリヤ に 連れて 下り， タルソ へ 送り 出した．

- And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
- But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
- And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
- And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
- Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

- こうして 敎會は， ユダヤ ， ガリラヤ ， サマリヤ の 全地にわたり 築き 上げられて 平安を 保ち， 主を 恐れかしこみ， 聖靈に 勵まされて 前進し 續けたので， 信者の 數がふえて 行った．

- Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
