- テモテ のように 私と 同じ 心になって， 眞實にあなたがたのことを 心配している 者は， ほかにだれもいないからです．
- だれもみな 自分自身のことを 求めるだけで， キリスト · イエス のことを 求めてはいません．
- しかし， テモテ のりっぱな ¿きぶりは， あなたがたの 知っているところです． 子が 父に 仕えるようにして， 彼は 私といっしょに 福音に 奉仕して 來ました．
- ですから， 私のことがどうなるかがわかりしだい， 彼を 遣わしたいと 望んでいます．

- しかし， 私の 兄弟， 同勞者， 戰友， またあなたがたの 使者として 私の 窮乏のときに 仕えてくれた 人 エパフロデト は， あなたがたのところに 送らねばならないと 思っています．
- 彼は， あなたがたすべてを 慕い 求めており， また， 自分の 病氣のことがあなたがたに 傳わったことを 氣にしているからです．
- ほんとうに， 彼は 死ぬほどの 病氣にかかりましたが， 神は 彼をあわれんでくださいました． 彼ばかりでなく 私をもあわれんで， 私にとって 悲しみに 悲しみが 重なることのないようにしてくださいました．
