- わが 子よ． すぐれた 知性と 思慮とをよく 見張り， これらを 見失うな．
- それらは， あなたのたましいのいのちとなり， あなたの 首の 麗しさとなる．
- こうして， あなたは 安らかに 自分の 道を 步み， あなたの 足はつまずかない．
- あなたが 橫たわるとき， あなたに 恐れはない． 休むとき， 眠りは， ここちよい．
- にわかに 起こる 恐怖におびえるな． 惡者どもが 襲いかかってもおびえるな．

- My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
- So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
- Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
- When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
- Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
