- 私たちの 住まいである 地上の 幕屋がこわれても， 神の 下さる 建物があることを， 私たちは 知っています． それは， 人の 手によらない， 天にある 永遠の 家です．
- 私たちはこの 幕屋にあってうめき， この 天から 與えられる 住まいを 着たいと 望んでいます．
- それを 着たなら， 私たちは 裸の 狀態になることはないからです．
- 確かにこの 幕屋の 中にいる 間は， 私たちは 重荷を 負って， うめいています． それは， この 幕屋を 脫ぎたいと 思うからでなく， かえって 天からの 住まいを 着たいからです． そのことによって， 死ぬべきものがいのちにのまれてしまうためにです．
- 私たちをこのことにかなう 者としてくださった 方は 神です． 神は， その 保證として 御靈を 下さいました．

- For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
- For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
- inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.
- For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.
- Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

- そういうわけで， 私たちはいつも 心强いのです． ただし， 私たちが 肉體にいる 間は， 主から 離れているということも 知っています．
- 確かに， 私たちは 見るところによってではなく， 信仰によって 步んでいます．
- 私たちはいつも 心强いのです． そして， むしろ 肉體を 離れて， 主のみもとにいるほうがよいと 思っています．
- そういうわけで， 肉體の 中にあろうと， 肉體を 離れていようと， 私たちの 念願とするところは， 主に 喜ばれることです．
- なぜなら， 私たちはみな， キリスト のさばきの 座に 現われて， 善であれ 惡であれ， 各自その 肉體にあってした 行爲に 應じて 報いを 受けることになるからです．

- Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord--
- for we walk by faith, not by sight--
- we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
- Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.
- For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
